Overview

This position will be a dual roll for Therapy Technician and Front Office Coordinator.

Therapy Tech -

The Therapy Technician responsibility is to assist the Therapist in the treatment and care of the patient. The Therapy Technician, non-licensed personnel, that works under the direct supervision of the licensed therapist and provide non-skilled supportive services to the patient. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning patient treatment areas (mat tables and equipment), assisting in observing patient treatments providing support to the therapist, transporting patients to appropriate treatment areas, instructing patients in non-skilled therapeutic activities, conferring with licensed personnel concerning patient safety and response to treatment. The Therapy Technician will receive on-the-job training and must be fully competent in all performed duties. The Therapy Technician does not replace skilled physical and occupational therapy.

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Office Coordinator -

The Office Coordinator organizes and maintains the daily schedule of the Rehabilitation Department. She/he is available as a resource and communicator for physicians, patients, department, and hospital personnel, visitors, etc., regarding the overall daily operations of the Department. The office coordinator is responsible for providing support to the corporate director, facility manager, therapist, and support staff. Provides assistance to coordinate organization-wide quality improvement activities to comply with Joint Commission on Accreditation and other external agencies reporting requirements to meet federal, state, and third-party regulations/requirements for utilization management activities and hospital goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Therapy Tech -

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to seek and accept direction and clarification from others

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills

  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information

  • Should possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task effectively

Office Coordinator -

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree

  • One year experience in customer service related experience/field

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and records management preferred

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills

  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information

  • Able to function effectively with frequent interruptions

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
