The Presidio of Montery Health Clinic is seeking Therapy Assistants to join our growin team!

This position has a great family-friendly work schedule working Monday-Friday. No nights, weekends, or holidays. Please note that this position does not requirePTA licensure.

At our clinic you will practice alongside civilian and military health care experts and experience unique professional opportunties. Our staff serves by caring for our military but are not subject to military requirements. We operate within safe staffing standards - giving you time to provide exceptional care.

The Presidio of Monterey is home of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center. Located in picturesque Monterey County on California's Central Coast, approximately 85 miles south of San Francisco and 50 miles from the Silicon Valley. With historic ties to the Spanish colonial era, the Presidio of Monterey as U.S. military installation dates to July 7, 1846 when Commodore Sloat landed his troops unopposed in Monterey during the Mexican-American War and first raised the U.S. flag in Alta California, claiming its territories for the United States. Monterey is the last Presidio in California to have an active military installation.

Responsibilities

Duties

  • Assist Physical Therapists in providing physical therapy services in an outpatient setting to a diverse patient population.

  • Plans and carries out highly specialized and diversified treatment for patients whose condition requires the application of non standard in addition to standard treatment procedures.

  • Utilizes various modalities and procedures prescribed for physical therapy to include electrical stimulation, TENS, iontophoresis, ultrasound, sterile technique, hot packs, cryotherapy, and cervical and pelvic traction.

  • Modifies crutches, splints, braces, etc., as needed to facilitate treatment, and recommends equipment needs for both clinic and home use.

  • Annotates all assessments, treatments, patient progress and response to treatments in the patient's medical records.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

Applicants must possess the specialized experience or education as described below, or a combination of experience and education.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes implementing therapy treatment plans, and instructing on physical therapy programs or providing status reports.

Education: One full year of Graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Exercise Science.

Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
