Summary:
Serve families, children and adults by providing appropriate clinical services.

Reimbursement for clinical licensure, exams and renewals!

School-based Clinicians provide individual, family and/or group therapy to children, adolescents and their families in the setting that is most comfortable for the unique needs of each family, which could include their child's school, their home or another community setting. There are currently Sweetser community-based therapists working in more than 100 public schools throughout Maine.

As a School-based Clinician, you will work full time providing comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy to students and their families within the SAD 55 community. You will also act as a liaison between program and family, participate in program development, and maintain clinical records.

  • Friday school hours with occasional after school and evening hours required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in either Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in clinical practice from an accredited graduate school. Independent licensure preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Appropriate licensing certificate (LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, LMSWcc or LCPCcc)
  • Valid Driver's License.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated competence in discipline

  • Persons with lived experience in the Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse system are encouraged to apply.

Login Now Speech Language Pathologist - School Job Code:9364 Location:Saco 04072 Department:Education Program FT/PT Status:Full Time Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist provides direct quality speech and language therapy to students in the Sweetser School. Conducts speech evaluations and on-going progress assessments in accordance with the student's IEP. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Utilizes interventions and strategies that are age appropriate and appropriate to the assessed areas of need. * Works in conjunction with the teaching staff, Behavioral Analysts, and Occupational Therapist to provide cohesive programming to the students. * Uses modeling, prompting, written instructions or other means to guide, instruct, and inform the Ed Techs on the carryover of students' speech therapy goals. * Documents students' responses to therapy, and summarization of therapy. * Completes and participates in programming and implementation, discharge planning, daily progress records and related documentation. * Completes necessary training or CEU's in order to maintain state licensing. * Implement speech therapy trading during in-services for teaching staff in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist, teaching staff, and behavior analysts. * Attends IEP meetings as required. * Communicates effectively with parents and family members in person, at meetings, telephone conversations and other approproate means. * Advises the senior director on staff performance. Advises the senior director on staff performance. * Maintains a safe environment for all students, having knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and using the procedures effectively. EDUCATION: * Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communication Disorders CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: * Independent licensure required to perform speech and language therapy in Maine under the Department of Education. * Maintain a valid state driver's license. EXPERIENCE: * Three (3) to five (5) years experience working with children with either learning or emotional difficulties.
