Located on a large private ranch on the outskirts of beautiful Cedar City, Discovery Ranch for Girls is a licensed, accredited residential treatment center for for adolescent females and non-binary students. As our clinical therapist, you will provide clinical services for a small number of our students individually and in the family and group settings.

Discovery Ranch for Girls combines the power of traditional and experiential therapies to create a clinically sophisticated, relationship-based residential treatment program. As our clinical therapist, you will work closely with our residential and academic staff to deliver the best program possible to our students and their families.   • Carry a caseload of 6 adolescent females and non-binary students
  • Provide individual and family therapy for each student
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions
  • Document all services
  • Evaluate students emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysis
  • Create bio-psycho-social history and master treatment plan for each student
  • Manage the continuum of care for each student while they are with us
  • Work collaboratively with a interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Attend treatment team meetings
  • Work closely and collaboratively with residential staff and academic staff
  • Participate in marketing activities, including occasional travel
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referring professional


  • Master's Degree in Social Work, or
  • Marriage and Family Therapy, or
  • Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Retirement contributions

  • License is unrestricted and in good standing with Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing
  • Relationship-focused with a family systems approach
  • Background in multicultural training and experience working with non-binary LGBTQIA+ youth preferred
  • Experience in the delivery of clinical services in a residential or wilderness setting preferred
  • Able to pass criminal investigation background checks
  • Able to pass motor vehicle record check
  • Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)

Where additional health problems or complications are involved Exercise Therapist refers evaluations to Exercise Physiologist.</p><p>Administer diagnostic treadmill stress tests.</p><p>Assists patients with prescribed therapeutic exercises.</p><p>Adapts exercise programs as appropriate to best help patient meet improvement goals.</p><p>Accurately interprets EKGs and/or diagnostic tests.</p><p>Provides basic education to patients on exercise programs, health needs, and risks.</p><p>Completes appropriate documentation including evaluation reports and discharge summaries.</p><p>Cleans, maintains, and inspects exercise equipment. Reports repair/maintenance needs.</p><p>Coordinates patient care with other patient care providers as appropriate to ensure proper, continuous, and beneficial treatment.</p><p>Responds appropriately to emergency situations.</p><p>Participates in evaluation of current practices, program improvement, and development of new procedures and practices to improve patient care.</p><p>Continues to enhance knowledge in field of practice and stays updated on industry trends and changes.</p><p>Minimum Qualifications</p><p>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.</p><p>Basic EKG interpretation and arrhythmia detection skills (or within 6 months of hire).</p><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><p>Actively enrolled in a Bachelors program (to be completed in 3-5 years) at an accredited institution in the fields of Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field (enrollment will be verified),</p><ul><li>or-</li></ul><p>Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field from an accredited institution (degree will be verified)</p><p>ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification or NSCA Certification.</p><ul><li>and -</li></ul><p>ACLS Certification.</p><p>Applicable experience.</p><p>Physical Requirements:</p><p>Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, ManualDexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling.</p><p>Location:</p><p>Cedar City Hospital</p><p>Work City:</p><p>Cedar City</p><p>Work State:</p><p>Utah</p><p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p><p>0</p><p>The hourly range for this position is listed below.
