We are currently looking to contract with a Therapist to provide up to 20-hours of service per week at our Men's program in Harbeson and our Women's program in Seaford. The Contracted Therapist for our Residential Substance Use Recovery Program provides critical psychological support and therapy to men and women undergoing treatment for substance use disorders. This role involves facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, assessing patients' mental health needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans. The Contracted Therapist will deliver therapeutic services to residents in a program dedicated to the treatment of substance use disorders. This role requires a compassionate, skilled therapist capable of addressing a range of psychological issues related to addiction and recovery. The therapist will work closely with residents to promote mental health and recovery through evidence-based practices.

Please note: This is a contracted position for up to 20-hours per week. Time will be split between our Men's program in Harbeson and out Women's program in Seaford.

Requirements

General Accountabilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using modalities suited to substance use recovery, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Perform comprehensive psychological assessments to identify individual needs, treatment goals, and potential mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and refine individualized treatment plans that address both substance use and underlying mental health conditions.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed, helping residents navigate acute psychological distress and substance use challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with professional standards and legal requirements.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups to educate residents on topics related to mental health, addiction, coping strategies, and life skills.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to provide a holistic approach to recovery.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field required.
  • Licensed to practice as a therapist or counselor in the state of Delaware.
    • Clinical License such as a LCSW, LPCMH, LPC, or LMFT
  • Proven experience in therapeutic settings, specifically with substance use recovery.
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and privacy regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledgeable about Drug and Alcohol Treatment principles, standards and EBPs.
  • Recognize different value systems while holding strongly to professional ethics.
  • Practice with honesty, integrity, respect and compassion for clients and their support systems.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of population specific factors that affect disease prevention, incidence, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes and tailor appropriate care to specific patient populations.
