The Therapeutic Staff Support is an integral part of our BHRS program which serves individuals in Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Wayne, Susquehanna and Lackawanna Counties with behavioral or developmental challenges.

Responsibilities & duties:

  • Provide therapeutic behavioral interventions to clients in accordance with treatment plans in the clients home, the community and or school settings.
  • Utilize safe crisis management techniques as deemed appropriate.
  • Adhere to client schedule and deliver appropriate authorized units of services. prescribed as directed by supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team.
  • Report the effectiveness of treatment protocols and treatment difficulties to supervisor and clinician.
  • Maintain consumer confidentiality per company policy, HIPAA Privacy Rule regulations, and the Department of Public Welfare.

Requirements

Qualification &

Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services field preferred or
  • Bachelors Degree in other field and 1 year full- time paid child. Adolescent experience;
  • Associate Degree plus 3 years of full-time paid child adolescent experience or 60 college credits with 3 years full-time paid child/adolescent experience.
  • RN with 1-year full-time paid child/adolescent experience or
  • LPN with 3 years full-time paid child/adolescent experience.

The office is in Wilkes-Barre. Flexible schedule $56,326.40/yr + full benefits package Qualifications: * Licensed preferred, Master's level (or higher) clinician with IDD and MH experience * Non-licensed clinician must have increased direct supervision by a licensed professional and must be actively working toward licensure. * One year of experience providing clinical supervision to non-clinical staff is required. * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dually diagnosed individuals, recovery principles and recovery driven service system. * Have knowledge and, preferably be certified, in one of the established behavior modification techniques; such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) or Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA). * Valid PA Driver's License and appropriate state and federal clearances. POSITION DETAILS Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. As a member of the DDTT Program, the Behavioral Specialist is qualified in a mental health profession, and possesses the clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate and provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services to adults, youth, & adolescents with BH and IDD diagnosis (Dually Diagnosed) under the clinical supervision of the Program Director and Psychiatrist. The Behavior Specialist provides intensive therapeutic services in all types of settings, including community living arrangements, schools, communities, natural support residents, etc. The Behavioral Specialist, in collaboration with other member of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs. The Behavioral Specialist identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods. The BS will utilize a strengths-based person-centered approach. The Behavior Specialist will include the child/adolescent as a participant in their own treatment and inclusion of parents or other caretakers as members of the treatment team and as partners in treatment.
