The Position

Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This recruitment is for several clinicians at Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC) in Elko. Mental Health Counselors in this setting complete clinical assessments, treatment planning, individual, family and group counseling, case staffing, case management for youth who are placed in this DCFS juvenile justice residential correctional facility. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and two years of post-master's degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Licensure or certification as a Mental Health Counselor, Certified Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor issued by the appropriate licensing or certification authority is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

VIEW JOBS 11/2/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-31T00:00 The Position Highway Maintenance Workers are certified by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to operate a variety of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment in order to restore and maintain the integrity of roadway surfaces; maintain roadside slopes, shoulders, culverts and ditches to restore drainage and prevent erosion; and repair or replace related roadway appurtenances such as guardrails, markers, guide posts and fences. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. These positions are located in the Elko region to include: Elko, Contact, Emigrant Pass, Wells, Wendover, Ruby Valley, and North Fork. Incumbents are responsible for performing routine maintenance duties including keeping pavement surface, shoulders, clear zones, and associated roadways in good repair; winter highway maintenance duties, including snow plow operations, anti-icing activities; and assistance in emergency operations. These positions will be filled on a TEMPORARY basis.
