Amentum is seeking a dynamic and innovative Theater Undersea Future Plans Planner to provide planning and analysis support to the Commander, Submarine Force, Pacific (CSP) Operations Directorate at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.

  • Have the experience and knowledge to support the Theater Undersea Warfare Commander (TUSWC) during operations in the Third Fleet Area of Responsibility.

You will provide assistance to the Operations Directorate staff by focusing on long-term deliberate and emergent operational planning such as Mission Analysis, Course of Action selection, Wargaming, and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) development for potential future operations for upcoming Theater Undersea Warfare operations led by the CSP. You will provide analysis and planning support to the senior staff decision makers in the planning of future operations and exercises led CSP in its role as TUSWC.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the CSP Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Future Plans (FuPlanS) Director in the development of TUSW directives including TUSWC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), TUSW doctrine, CONOPS, TUSW Operational Tasking (OPTASKs), orders and intentions messages.

  • Serve as Crisis Action Team (CAT) member, Cross Functional Team Member, or Theater Undersea Warfare Watch Officer (TUSWWO) as required to support future operations and plans or as necessary during the execution of current TUSW operations.

  • Support data collection and development of assessments and lessons learned during execution of exercises and operations.

  • Assist in the development of reports and briefing requirements as required by the CSP MOC Battle Rhythm.

  • Provide support for short-term deliberate brand and/or sequel planning during higher MOC postures.

  • Attend planning conferences, workshops, seminars, war-games, etc., as required to further USW requirements, doctrine, training, and readiness.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 5 years of experience in undersea warfare such as submarine operations, Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance, undersea surveillance, surface warfare anti-submarine warfare, intelligence in the undersea domain or oceanography.

  • At least 2 years of experience on a Task Force, Fleet or higher-level staff.

  • Experience with the drafting of CONOPs and writing of orders such as PLANORDS, TASKORDS, and EXORDS.

  • Experience in the writing of status and update messages for fleet use.

  • Experience developing and presenting briefings to senior leaders.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must have an active Top-Secret clearance and be SCI eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the Indo-Pacific Area of Operations.

  • Experience supporting major exercises supporting undersea operations such as RIMPAC or VALIANT SHIELD or equivalent operations.

  • Experience on a TUSWC staff.

  • Experience with Operations Analysis or Operations Research.

The salary range for this position is $145K to $165K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
