Job Title: Theater Camp Counselor

Branch: Upper Main Line YMCA

Pay Class: Part Time

Shifts/Availability: Monday-Friday/ 8:30 am- 4:30 pm

Rate: $15.00-$16.00

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: Camp UMLY is hiring an experienced theater counselor to theater camps through out the summer. This a 40 hour week seasonal position. Must have experience with theater and working with children

Responsibilities:

• Assists with specific activities, teaching theater curriculum, for all participants.

• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in the program.

• Manage all equipment to ensure safety.

• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.

• Ensures all children are picked up by parents.

• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to the appropriate person.

• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills

• Prior knowledge and at least 1 year of experience in the program area

• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs

• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and training within 90 days of hire

• Must have a background in theater and working with children.

• Experience working with children
