As a member of our maintenance team, you will perform general maintenance and repair duties within our community, assisting in a wide variety of tasks. You will have an opportunity to immediatly impact the team's success by delivering your highest quality of services within the maintenance area, demonstrating a willingness to assist where needed.
In the process, you will be given the opportunity to learn more skilled areas within the maintenance and repair process, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical and other skilled building trades areas. Your attention to detail, willingness to learn and ability to help where needed will be key to your success. Among many responsibilities you will order and deliver departmental supplies, maintain and repair property, equipment, grounds and entrances, complete maintenance work orders and perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
You may be required to with other environmental department tasks which may include housekeeping, laundry and floor care. You may be required to drive company vehicles for transportation, errands and deliveries.
At least two years of prior maintenance and facilities or environmental services experience is required with preference for vocational training in construction trades and/or building maintenance. This position requires a valid Iowa Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
You will need to be able to meet the physical requirements of this position to include being able to travel between floors and areas of the campus, as well as lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance. Because you work in the homes of those we serve, we will need you to be able to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English. We will also expect you to be able to effectively communicate with residents in English. At least beginner level computer skills are expected.
