Role Summary:

The Greenville Level II Non-Destructive Test Operator uses x-ray technology to inspect high pressure turbine blades. Two positions are available on 3rd shift.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform radioscopy and computed tomography NDT inspections of aircraft engine turbine airfoils in a fast paced manufacturing environment;

  • Evaluate images and interpret test findings in accordance with manufacturing blueprints, process specifications, and work instructions;

  • Accurately document test findings and archive historical records;

  • Effectively communicate information and perform duties in a teaming environment;

  • Perform daily equipment set-up procedures and quality checks;

  • Perform radiation safety surveys and successfully complete annual radiation safety training

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma All applicants must successfully pass written general, specific and practical examinations Current level 2 certification in radiography meeting National Aerospace Standard (NAS) 410. Previous radiography training and experience must include a minimum of 80 hours formal classroom education and 800 hours radiography experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Possess the skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, interpret, evaluate and document findings without supervision.

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply geometric, trigonometric and algebraic relationships.

  • Through knowledge of the scope and limitations of radiographic imaging techniques

  • Demonstrated Organizational and Leadership Skills Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Current GE Aviation certification in radioscopy meeting General Electric Quality Control Work Instruction T-049

  • Minimum of 40 hours digital radiography classroom training and 200 hours of digital radiographic testing experience

  • Previous experience performing digital radiographic inspection of cast turbine airfoils

  • Previous GE Aviation manufacturing experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a teaming environment

Following successful completion of the post-employment on-boarding training, the successful candidates will participate in a self-directed team environment to identify and implement process improvement opportunities resulting in improved quality and product flow. Essential Responsibilities: * Perform set-ups, tool changes, offsets, and run production on various CNC and non-CNC machines * Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to include reduction of setup times and improvements in quality and throughput utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques * Must perform precision work to exacting tolerances * Read and understand process operation sheets, tooling sheets, tech plans and associated documents * Work from blue prints and work instructions to produce parts * Have the ability to correctly gauge parts and record dimensions * Change and reset tooling * Successfully complete applicable special processes and operator certification requirements •Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, caliper and gauges * Understand Part Process Flow (incoming/outgoing) * Perform preventive maintenance checks * Be an active contributing member of a high performance, self-directed work team with minimum supervision * Perform tasks that require manual dexterity * Complete all required compliance training * In order to perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the majority of the shift and work in a high production environment Qualifications/Requirements: * High School diploma or GED * A minimum of 1 year of full time manufacturing experience with manual or Computer Numerical Controlled machining using milling, turning, lasering and grinding processes * Must be willing to work 3rd shift * Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hats, and safety shoes) * Must successfully complete a mechanical skills assessment and a pre-employment physical/drug screen and on-going random drug screens Additional Eligibility Requirement GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
