The Family Investment Project - Camp Counselor
The Family Enrichment Center is an agency that provides children, adults and families opportunities to take a step forward in life. Members who are serving as Camp Counselors with the Family Investment Project will be serving with children in a group setting to reinforce the social-emotional and educational content the children received during school and during afterschool programming throughout the school year.
The summer camps will focus on promoting self-esteem, confidence, and learning new skills.
The summer camp is divided into 2 timeframes. The first 3-week camp is scheduled from June 10-June 28 and the second 3-week camp is scheduled from July 8-July 26.
Orientation and planning are scheduled before the first week of camp and a second planning and training week is scheduled for the week before the second camp. Members will learn through a variety of trainings and hands on experiences how to be group leaders within the program, but also leaders within the community. The members will learn how to organize and lead small group discussions and learn public speaking skills.
The members will receive all required trainings and additional monthly trainings to help them obtain the skills to assist with growing as a leader, help while they are serving, and continue to help them post service. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
