The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an organized and driven Senior Coordinator for Texas Robotics. Texas Robotics is an interdisciplinary consortium of 16 core robotics faculty from the Departments of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics. Our research scope is broad, ranging across multiple areas such as surgical robotics, personal assistance robotics, automated driving, long-term autonomy, and nuclear robotics. Texas Robotics just launched its first undergraduate program, a Minor in Robotics, in Fall 2023 and is continuing to build out its undergraduate program and robotics community.

Purpose

Provide high level support for Texas Robotics at UT Austin.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative: Perform general administrative duties not limited to managing the central robotics email account, media asks, and scheduling meetings as needed for the Director and Managing Director.

  • Marketing: Lead marketing for all of Texas Robotics including managing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), website updates, designing and printing digital and print invitations, announcements, event programs, flyers, building signage, templates, Texas Robotics overview slides, brochures, faculty research 1 pagers, designing swag, graphic design, and branding needs.

  • Supervision: Supervise the communications student employee to help manage social media platforms, graphic design, and photography. Assign tasks, provide regular feedback, help with goal-setting, and give clear communication about job expectations.

  • Communications: Manage the robotics listservs, publicize Texas Robotics' participation at major robotics conferences, create post-event news articles, and maintain records of faculty publications & patents. Draft email communications, fall & spring newsletters, and presentations as needed. Collaborate with marketing teams in CS, ME, ECE, and ASE to ensure uniform branding and cross-departmental communications.

  • Help with event operations on the day of large events, annual impact report, and robotics tours.

  • Other: Perform other related functions as assigned. This job description may not include all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree. Five years of experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think strategically and creatively and work independently as well as on a team. Be flexible and adaptable as Texas Robotics is a growing organization. Exceptional customer service, strong accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook/Google Mail, and calendars.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Education, Marketing, Communications or a related field.

Salary Range

$62,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:
