Make an Impact as a Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System Specialist
In Texas, the child care quality rating certification is called Texas Rising Star, which ChildCareGroup manages in the counties of Dallas, Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone, McLennan, Jefferson, Hardin, and Orange counties. The Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS) is a statewide program designed to provide early childhood professionals with resources and tools to help them meet their professional development needs. TECPDS defines professional development as any opportunity that enhances the knowledge and skills of those working with young children, including training, education, and employment.
The Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System Specialist will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for child care and early learning programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, providing orientations and training about the system, including the Texas Workforce Registry (WFR), setting up accounts, and offering simple technical assistance, such as uploading documents. The SME is also responsible for validating child care program staff training records, as well as managing their service delivery area Organizational Dashboard.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Complete all required training, including Train the Trainer instruction
Participate in all required meetings
Become recognized as a Subject Matter Expert for TECPEDS
Serve as a TECPEDS training records validator
Provide Support and Technical Assistance to Child care programs and Texas Rising Star mentors and coaches
Provide orientations and presentations about the System
Assist child care programs with creating accounts, and uploading documents
Linking their account to their school or the CLI Engage account
Assisting Directors in uploading the previous and current years' training documentation
Assist program directors in creating a system process for updating staff credentials and professional development achievements
Ensure that accounts are up to date
Provide guidance on career pathways
Provide guidance to Texas Rising Star content area for initiatives
Utilizing the system Organizational Dashboard in the system to connect certified trainers with the content area manager
Review data for completeness and accuracy
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Competency:
Computer and Information Literacy: The ability to use computers to gather, evaluate, and communicate information efficiently.
Computational Thinking: The capacity to approach problems in a systematic way that can be replicated by a machine (such as a computer), including the ability to break down complex tasks into simpler algorithms.
Basic Computer Skills: These are foundational skills required to operate a computer, such as turning on a device, using a keyboard and mouse, managing files, and understanding basic software applications.
Internet Basics: Knowledge of how to connect to the internet, use a web browser, navigate websites, and understand online safety principles.
Digital Competence: A broader concept that encompasses all the skills required to be confident, critical, and safe in the digital environment, whether for work, learning, or leisure activities.
Basic Application Skills: Understanding how to operate common Microsoft 365 applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Communication: Leveraging Outlook for email management, scheduling meetings, and task management.

Presentation Skills: Creating effective presentations with PowerPoint, including the use of templates and animations.
Education and Experience
High school graduate or the equivalent, Degree preferred.
Three or more years' experience in a position with similar experience
Experience with computers and applications is a must
Travel and Compliance Requirements
Must have a valid Texas driver's license.
Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements.
Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation.
Ability to travel locally or out of town as required.
Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable.
Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment.
