Job Summary

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Project Inspector (TET IV) for immediately employment; the employee will be working on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and will be assigned to the MDTA office there. This qualified Project Inspector applicant will provide inspection support services on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on miscellaneous structural steel, bearing replacement, and expansion joint replacement and repairs across the entire structure. This position will require working at heights of over 200 feet above the water level. Duties may include:

  • Oversees and Perform field inspections to monitor road conditions, bridges, road construction, and traffic, and material using in road construction and repair.

  • Reviews construction, maintenance or traffic projects for compliance with project specifications and plans.

  • Compile quantities, reviews construction reports, generate daily inspection reports and a daily diary of work completed by contractors each day.

  • Coach, mentor, and recommend training for staff

  • Participate in various contractual meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 5-8 years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on the supervisory of construction inspection and contract compliance

  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs needed

  • Candidates will be required to achieve certification in the field testing procedures in concrete, soil aggregate, hot mix asphalt and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification may be required
