Position Summary

Position responsible for administering and proctoring TABE, OPT, TABE Class E and other exams utilized by CCR programs through both live and remote means. Also scans and scores testing utilizing appropriate procedures for each type of exam. Explains test results to students/program participants, enters results into LACES and files paper copy in student files. Creates and maintains student/participant files. Works with Data Manager to input and maintain data and files as required by program regulations. Tutor students in the HSE program, assisting with subject matter as needed. Providing individual assistance to students in need of one-on-one attention. May work with students to assist them with accessing online learning platforms and filling out applications for the program. Works with students to help identify career goals and create Career Pathway Plans, through approved testing and exploration. Helps students update Career Pathway Plans on a regular basis. May work with students, and Career Services to help place students in work experience programs and assist with IET programs. Students are primarily adults or older teens with a variety of educational backgrounds. The Manager/Instructor needs to be sensitive to a variety of learning barriers, and able to assist students in obtaining the tools needed to address their individual barriers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proctor/administer exams to students in relation to CCR programs following guidelines as appropriate for in person and remote testing.

  • Create and maintain student files for the HiSET program.

  • Maintain data entry.

  • May assist students with on-line instructional programs and lessons.

  • Assess each student's knowledge of course material using approved assessment tools.

  • Appropriately use prescribed pre- and post-assessment data to assist students in developing learning plans and to set realistic goals.

  • Assist students in developing SMART goals for program and postsecondary education.

  • Model and instruct students in employability skills.

  • Enter student attendance and other data as required by program guidelines.

  • Assist in planning and participate in ABE/HEQ graduation and other student's recognition events.

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings-professional development workshops and conferences related to adult education.

  • Check in and out, track equipment such as: laptops, chrome books or tablets.

  • Provide program information to potential students and interested parties.

  • Operate within the framework established by CWC's policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Adhere to federal and state guidelines of the Federal/WY AE Grant.

  • Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned.

  • Provide individual and/or small group tutoring in Math, Language Arts: Reading and Writing, Science and Social Studies to teen and adult students at multiple grade levels.

  • Help students create Career Pathway Plans and update those plans to reflect program process.

  • Work with students to complete Integrated Education Training programs and assist with placement into Work Experience opportunities as developed.

  • Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned.

Position Specifications and Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree.

Experience

  • One years' experience working with adults in an ELL, vocational, college or pre-college setting.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid driver's license

Equivalency Statement

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Tutoring. 

  • BA Degree

  • Office administration/clerical experience.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to effectively identify and resolve problems.

Equipment Used

  • Work is performed using standard office equipment and requires the use of an automobile.

  • Performance of work requires operating a PC Computer, laptop, and other related instructional technology including smart board, projector, etc.

  • Knowledge of Google Suite programs is helpful as well as working with educational software programs such as: Khan Academy, Aztec, Blue Canoe etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work, up to ten pounds of force to exert. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, which do not generally involve muscular strain. General daily activities might include walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching and light lifting. Pulling, climbing, kneeling, lifting, grasping, standing particularly for sustained periods of time and/or sitting particularly for sustained periods of time (on-line instructing). Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform some essential functions. Extensive keyboarding and computer work; walking or moving about to accomplish tasks. Talking including expressing or exchanging ideas; and hearing includes the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and seeing, the ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Environmental Conditions

  • Work is performed in a classroom office setting with some work outside of the office and may require occasional travel; generally, to other campus locations. Evening work may be required if it is determined that is the best time for classes.

Level of Supervision

  • This position operates under the direct supervision of the Director of College and Career Readiness.
