Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for managing the heat treat processes utilized in Building BB located in East Peoria, IL. These technologies include direct hardening, carburizing, induction hardening and nitride. The candidate will work closely with the operations and quality teams to ensure the area is safe and meets PQVC requirements. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can't wait for you to join the team!!

Education requirement:

• BS Materials Engineering

What skills you will have:

Accuracy and Attention to Detail

• Planning and prioritization skills.

• Create documentation consistent with job requirements (CP, PF, PFMEA, SW)

• Maintain process documentation and completes annual reviews.

• Knowledge of OEE and capacity calculations.

Technical Excellence

• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, One Note, & Teams

• Knowledge of standard work, control plans and PFMEAs.

• Knowledge of the continuous improvement, safety investigation and root cause analysis processes.

• Usage of the PPAP process.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems

• Determines root cause of process and quality problems.

• Reviews data to ensure capability and takes steps to improve as needed.

• Resolve quality problems and determine rework process.

• Reviews safety issues and take administrative, or engineering based corrective actions.

Effective Communications

• Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient.

• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.

• Communicates with all levels of the organization (Operator to Building Manager).

Top Candidates will also have:

• Ferrous Metallurgy experience.

• Knowledge of heat treat process controls.

• Knowledge of SAP software.

Additional Information:

The location for this position is East Peoria, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 10% travel.
