The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

JOB PURPOSE

Test and debug complex mechatronics systems, primarily for the semiconductor industry


Essential Functions and

Responsibilities:
  • Test complex electronic boards and assemblies using Test Process Instructions (TPI) and/or documented Test Procedures.

  • Troubleshoot or identify errors in systems level tests.

  • Perform failure diagnosis down to the sub module level

  • Trace/diagnose complex incorrect cabling/wiring and correct mis-wires

  • Compliance with ESD regulations, safe working practices

  • Work in ISO 6 cleanroom environment.

  • Perform repair work as needed

  • Support production as needed.

  • Prepare activity reports and other data input as required.

  • Follows all health and safety policies at all times.

  • Support Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other related processes for continuous improvement of critical operational metrics across key functions.

  • Perform related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications, Skills/Experiences

  • Associate Degree

  • 2 minimum years of related experience.

  • Technician Certification in Electronics/Semiconductor Technology a plus.

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical circuits, instruments and components

  • Basic computer skills

  • Professional experience in testing circuits and repairing devices at module or component level

  • Must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics and assembly drawings.

  • Experience in using Test equipment including multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.

  • Must be able to work closely with engineers.

  • Must be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent teamwork and time management skills.

Job Purpose: The Assembly Lead is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting mechanical parts using a variety of assembly equipment, fixtures and test equipment. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: * Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Supervisor * Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly. * Assemble parts or units, and position, align and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies or frames, using hand tools and power tools. * Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications. * Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and venires. * Follows detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to correctly assemble mechanical parts and tools. * Performs manual assembly and visual inspection of mechanical parts * Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assemble sequences of electromechanical units. * Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping * File, lap, and buff parts and subassemblies using grease paddles or oilcans. * Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill press or portable power drills * Follows and provides feedback on assembly instructions and/or blueprints to install items such as; hardware, wiring harnesses, panels, components, sub-assemblies, etc. * Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts * Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts. Education and Experience: * High School or College Courses * 2 years experience as a lead assembler * Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills * Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English * Must be able to lift 50 pounds * Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment * Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time * Must be able to verbally communicate * Must be able to observer and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company. * Ability to do repetitive work, requiring strong dexterity and hand/eye coordination This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
