JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Test Technician I who will provide high-level direct support to Test & Repair Department. This person will assist Test Manager to prepare documents for repair services, perform in house testing, component level trouble shooting, configuration, calibration, and repair of Doble products.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-directed individual with superior electronic technical skills and experience. In this role, the Test Technician will interact with all levels of management and employees throughout the organization, necessitating strong communication, high technical and customer service skills.
This role will be based in our Ontario, CA office reporting to the Test & Repair Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare all repair service documents to submit to billing.
Troubleshoot products, instruments, modules and printed circuit boards to the component level.
Perform component level repair at the printed circuit board level.
Perform, document, and provide detailed component level failure analysis.
Effectively interact with engineering and operations in support of Test and Repair Dept.
Provide technical support for electrical and mechanical aspects of various products and systems.
Configure, test, and calibrate new production instruments and products for order fulfillment.
Calibrate, upgrade, test and repair returned customer owned instruments and products.
Record all test data and failure information into the production/repair data collection system.
Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes.
Open to learn and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering is preferred
Military or electronic training certificate is a minimum
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 1-3 years of experience as an electronic technician with a proven track record in troubleshooting and supporting electrical and mechanical aspects of highly customized, modular instruments and systems
Background in analog / digital circuitry / troubleshooting and PC board checkout
Proven high level of hands on system and component level, testing, trouble shooting and repair of complex electronic circuits
Hands on experience with printed circuit board assemblies.
Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscope, DVM, frequency counters, etc.
Proven experience performing and documenting component level failure analysis for complex instrumentation
Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment
Ability to interpret schematics and assembly drawings
Strong understanding of software driven hardware
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):
Familiarity with the execution of installation for hardware and software
Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
Experience with power industry high voltage test equipment a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office software. Strong skill in Excel is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $22.55 Midpoint $28.19
