Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) is seeking an Engineering leader with extensive experience in the development and management of Unit Under Test (UUT) or equivalent engineering automated test systems programs and engineering personnel to support prime hardware development and transition to UUT or equivalent engineering production phases.

This Test Software Architect Lead role is a critical staff position to aid the Test Automation Department in adapting and rollout of directorate common platforms, standards, and architecture across multiple mission areas. The role will require domain knowledge of electronic Circuit Card Assembly (CCA)/module/Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level or equivalent engineering testing to drive UUT test systems development or equivalent engineering systems. Successful candidate will have the leadership and communication skills needed to manage and evaluate technical solutions for the development of complex UUT or equivalent engineering test systems, both in delivered product and test system design itself.

Experience must include development of complete UUT or equivalent engineering systems where delivered product and test solution factors are evaluated to develop preferred UUT or equivalent engineering test approach. UUT or equivalent engineering Test solutions include alignment between product performance testing as well as UUT or equivalent engineering production acceptance test & environmental stress screening (ESS). Desired candidates will also have familiarity with cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or equivalent financial management system as well as leadership skills to develop competitive proposals (Basis of Estimates (BOEs) or equivalent estimation process) for the United States (US) government that demonstrate detailed knowledge of intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, communications, processors, and electronic warfare markets and the US government procurement process.

Successful candidate must possess UUT or equivalent engineering Test Software Graphical User Interface and Test Program Set development knowledge and/or experience. In addition, have experience in understanding the design and/or architect of UUT or equivalent engineering test solutions of analog, digital, mixed signal circuits, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), CCAs, and Interconnect for electronics subsystems.

Successful candidate must be capable of evaluating teams for proper alignment and potential staffing gaps, make recommendations for improvements, and aide in mentoring or filling positions.

Candidate should take a UUT or equivalent engineering test systems engineering approach to assignments and will be able to work from requirements to finished product, considering peripheral impacts of design choices assuring robust UUT test or equivalent engineering systems.

Candidate should be a team player and work effectively with team members and provide cost effective solutions for customer needs.

This position can be located in McKinney, TX, Ft. Wayne, IN, Aberdeen, MD or Largo, FL.

Security Clearance: The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Required Skills:

  • 10 years related technical experience across entire UUT Test Systems or equivalent Engineering product lifecycle (requirements, design, integration/implementation, validation/verification, maintenance)

  • Test Software knowledge and/or experience of Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Test Program Set (TPS) software for automation of UUT Test Systems or equivalent Engineering UUT systems

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or equivalent financial management system experience for UUT Test or equivalent Engineering systems

  • Schedule (Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)) development for Program planning and execution experience

  • Up to 50% travel may be required to other sites listed on this requisition

Candidate must also have experience with:

  • Working and communicating with all levels of management and individual contributors on a UUT Test System or equivalent Engineering team

  • Requirement's development and flowdown of higher-level requirements to lower-level modules or components (i.e., CCAs, Units, internal and/or externally developed)

  • UUT or equivalent test engineering processes with a willingness to aide in documenting, improving, and deploying to department personnel

  • Developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) or equivalent engineering estimates to foster new technologies and business growth for UUT Test Systems or equivalent Engineering systems

  • Designing and/or architecting test hardware for UUT Test Systems or equivalent Engineering systems

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner in an Agile Development and/or Maintenance Methodology

  • Experience building strong relationships and effectively partnering with distributed teams across multiple sites

  • NI software development environment (LabWindows/CVI, TestStand, LabVIEW, etc.) experience

  • Mentoring and providing career development direction to junior engineers

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline and 10 years of experience or MS degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline and 8 years of experience
