Experis is working with our client in seeking an Senior Test Engineer in the Rpund Rock, TX area. This is a 9-month W2 contract.This role is primarily testing storage backplanes

  • SAS Storage experience a must.

  • 6-8 years of testing experience

  • If candidates know Python but don't have storage testing experience that will still work. They can learn storage aspect if they have a strong testing background and can code in Python.

Test Senior Engineer

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develops and documents test plans and test cases for newly developed or current hardware and solutions products Develops test tools and automation for in use testing
Directs a test team during test execution, and reports results to development engineers and leadership
Creates test plans that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions and scope based on inputs from the Development and Marketing Provides the Engineering Manager with a High Level Test Strategy and comprehend

Responsibilities will be to test early development level solution components and triage issues found during test. The ideal candidate will also have Python coding experience to assist with creating test automation scripts.

Principal Accountabilities
Perform design verification and characterization on server storage products.
Troubleshoot and repair systems to the component level.
Set up, configure, and test prototype systems and software.
Perform specified test plans.
Code test automation scripts using Python.
Perform functional tests and analyze newly developed systems to ensure operation and reliability.
Assemble and disassemble prototype systems as necessary.
Assist other technicians in completing assigned tasks.
Able to work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.

Qualifications
Experience with server storage technology, including PCIe, SAS and RAID is preferred.
Must have a solid understanding of hardware and software interactions and be able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.
Detail-oriented with attention to product quality.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Ability to manage multiple programs and/or areas simultaneously.
Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
Ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities and working independently under aggressive timelines.
Able to easily achieve mastery of new tools, languages and operating systems.
Ability to work under date-driven schedules.
Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets and specifications.
Must be physically able to lift servers to assist in racking server and storage equipment.
