Description of Work
The primary purpose of the NC FAST Test Scripts Writer is to coordinate and ensure proper test coverage for all NC FAST software applications by reviewing, analyzing, and understanding all business, design, and functional requirements for testability and completeness. Some key job duties/responsibilities are:
Responsible for creating suitable test plans, manual test cases, reusable automated test scripts, regression tests and test data, execution of test sets, producing and analyzing test results, reporting and tracking defects
Working with other product team members to diagnose and recreate problems
Prioritize and implement solutions to quickly close defects to verify that all NC FAST software applications are thoroughly tested end-to-end, fully operational and free from defects
Helps coordinate testing activities in strict adherence to the NC FAST project plan schedule and helps to ensure that all testing deliverables are completed timely
Must demonstrate an understanding of the software testing lifecycle, and adhere to standard best practices, procedures, and methodologies.
Salary Grade IT06; Recruiting Range $61,972 - $90,817

North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) is a program designed to improve the way the DHHS and the 100 county departments of social services conduct business. NC FAST introduces new technological tools and business processes that will enable staff to spend less time performing administrative tasks and more time assisting families. Considerable experience testing web, GUI, client/server, and database applications as well as knowledge of testing on Windows and UNIX platforms
Experience with requirements analysis and test cases/script development and experience with manual and automated testing, testing tools, writing test plans and reviewing test cases
Must have experience and be proficient in using HP test tools such as Quality Center 11.52 and Selenium
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development;
Bachelor's degree with some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in business applications consulting or development;
Associate's degree in computer programming from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development;
An equivalent combination of education and experience
