Test Pit Technician

The Test Pit Technician (2nd Shift) at Aqua-Chem performs basic installations, troubleshooting, software and performance testing (Factory Acceptance Test / Software Operational Test / support of Site Acceptance Test) of equipment.

Schedule: 2nd Shift; Monday

• Thursday, 4:00pm

• 2:30am

Pay Range: $25.00 - 35.00/hr, Dependent on Experience (+10% Shift Differential)

Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Essential Duties:

• Must possess thorough and relevant product knowledge (Process Controls, Instrumentation, PLC Programming, Motor Controls, Fluid Systems).

• Position requires regular exercise of problem solving skills.

• Performs basic installations, troubleshooting, software and performance testing of equipment. Works from engineering drawings (P&ID, Electrical Schematics) and specifications, detailed written and verbal instructions and/or technical manuals.

• Must be self-directed and able to work both independently and as a team member.

• Completes required job documentation, FAT reports, SOT reports, operational data reports, etc.

• Must be able to connect electrical, water and steam to the equipment being tested

• Position requires the flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time to support customers.

• Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• 2-5 years experience with electrical or automation systems

• PLC programming and HMI configuration

• Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

• Technical degree, plus 2 years training

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Able to work overtime as required.
