TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a Test Manager to join the team in our North Carolina office.

The Test Manager is responsible for managing the development and implementation of project test requirements, for the Company's primary toll system product, through implementation and ongoing operational periods. Coordinate all aspects of testing activities, from initiation through final acceptance. Develop and execute test plans, organize cross-functional activities ensuring completion of the test program. Manages the testing design, planning, scheduling, execution, analysis, and reporting of test results; test execution to ensure testing activities are well planned, effective, and efficient; coordinating project testing requirements regarding staff management, test documentation, equipment specification, procurement, deployment, integration activities, customer and client relations, and project closeout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze project requirements and develop test plans to verify requirements and support project schedule.

  • Coordinates with engineering, project staff and other stakeholders to prioritize test activities.

  • Prepares, implements, & monitors schedule and cost estimates.

  • Identifies and procures resources necessary to complete testing activities

  • Ensures project quality standards are adhered to, including installation checklists

  • Completes and manages organization of test documentation

  • Drives onsite system integration success through effective testing, communication of test results, and system troubleshooting

  • Responds to inquiries from the development team, project management and customers about the nature, scope and progress of the test effort

  • Maintain liaison with software developers, project management and customers

  • Ensures project quality standards are adhered to, including installation checklists

  • Identifies test staffing needs and assists in the formation of effective testing teams

  • Manage the test team by selecting, developing, mentoring, training, coordinating activities, evaluating and tracking performance to ensure the efficient operation of the testing function.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises Test Team employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university with 2 plus years related work experience.

  • Minimum five plus years related work experience and/or training and supervisory experience required

  • Demonstrated experience in areas of enterprise software systems, test script development, and low-level system integration technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience managing Product Testing in progressively responsible leadership roles.

  • Ability to conduct tests in a live traffic or staged traffic environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with and to lead teams.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and manage collaborations.

Qualifications desired:

Prior Toll System Industry experience is a plus.

The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a highly motivated Manufacturing Test Engineer that will establish the overall software and hardware test strategy for AMI/AMR product lines. The successful candidate will embrace a team-oriented test-driven development process and will bring experience designing and implementing hardware and software solutions in C#, C++/ .NET. This position provides designs that meet utility and industry requirements as well as internal requirements for cost effectiveness, accuracy, functionality, performance, and reliability. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: * Design, implement and sustain Test and Diagnostic HW and SW platforms at lab and factory environments. * Design, implement and maintain Test Specifications, schematics, BOMs or any documentation related to test platforms. * Verify initial products and identify manufacturability, testability, design and process deficiencies. * Maintain previously developed product code, as required. * Maintain previously developed hardware equipment, as required. * Continuously refine and improve test programs, methods, and metrics to reduce product cost and increase test coverage and outgoing quality levels. * Continuously refine and improve hardware, methods, and metrics to reduce product cost and increase test performance and outgoing quality levels * Identify, analyze, and initiate corrective action when product design failures are uncovered by the test process. * Help set production priorities and direction. * Identify/Implement cost savings opportunities. * Analyze and quantify data to resolve process, test and operational issues.
