Location Profile:

Electro Rent has locations globally, with locations throughout the U.S and North America. This role is at our intellirent division, which is focused on the Power and Electrical market, located

on Roanoke, TX. This position will be located at our intellirent facility in Roanoke TX.

Position Summary:

Test Equipment Technician uses testing procedures to ensure proper function of electrical test equipment and will be expected to become quickly and safely familiar with new test equipment. Technicians assist the Production Manager, under the Production Supervisor, in ensuring appropriate procedures (functional testing and process) are being followed and appropriately maintained and are also involved in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as necessary. Technicians may be required to act as a team leader and provide direction and guidance to other technicians performing these assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional tests on various test equipment using documented procedures.

  • Work in accordance with electrical and general safety rules and practices.

  • Document work and functional test results using company software for each unit assessed.

  • Diagnose and repair failed test equipment (with or without electrical and mechanical diagrams.)

  • Recognize equipment and specific applications it is used with.

  • Prepare equipment and accessories for shipment.

  • Pack test equipment in shipping boxes using spray foam system.

  • Receive equipment from customers and vendors.

  • Keep workstation and facility neat, orderly, and free of safety hazards.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Power Quality, Digital Multimeters, Relay Test Sets, Ductors, Meggers, Current and Voltage Test sets, and Transformer Test Sets

  • Strong computer aptitude, specifically windows environments

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others in verbal and written

  • Reliable in both quality of work and attendance

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, small team environment

  • Flexibility to perform a wide range of assignments and functions

  • Positive, upbeat, "can-do" attitude

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of hands-on field-testing experience using Power Quality, Digital Multimeters, Relay Test Sets, Ductors, Meggers, Current and Voltage Test sets, and Transformer Test Sets required.

  • PMEL / Calibration technicians may also be considered.

  • Associates degree in applicable field, (or equivalent military and / or vocational experience) required

  • Capable of lifting to 50 lbs. or more, and willing to move equipment as required.

  • This position will be on-site at our Roanoke, TX warehouse

Experience & Education

  • Associates degree in applicable field, (or equivalent military and / or vocational experience.) required

  • 2-5 years of hands-on field-testing experience

  • This job will be required to be onsite at our Roanoke, TX facility 5 days a week.

  • Pay range for this position will be between $27.00 and $30.00 an hour depending on experience

Physical Requirements

  • All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job

  • Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week

  • Communicate effectively both orally as well as written

  • Move around work area, may include climbing ladders or stairs

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of equipment or boxes above the head, alone, or with help lift 150 pounds

  • Read documents

  • Use computer basic Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge preferred

  • Communicate effectively with phone
