We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of a Test Engineering Technician 1 for our Flat Panel Display repair operations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts computer and/or sub-component level assembly and disassembly ( soldering, cable installations, hardware)

  • Supports and conducts Functional Testing on computers and or components

  • Performs repairs on laptops by debug troubleshooting, software testing, and conducting diagnostics

  • Evaluates and report repeat returns to senior engineers and or management

  • Works with senior engineering teams on the deployment of new product introduction readiness and training

  • Supports repair techs with engineering hold units

  • Stays abreast of 5S methodologies and lean practices

  • Assists engineers with performing new product introduction test validation and process walkthrough

  • Supports senior engineers in analyzing test issues and performing gap analysis

  • Teardown or setup of test/Imaging lines, including but not limited to power, Network, foam, cables. ETC...

  • Performs other assigned duties as instructed by management such as data entry (real time, shop floor, etc.), reports, and working with fellow team members on accomplishing departmental objectives

Skills, Education and Training:

  • Associates degree in computer Science preferred

  • Minimum 1 year experience within Computer hardware, testing and/or networking

  • Familiarity with component level trouble-shooting and diagnostics skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Computer skills: MS Office (excel, word, outlook, powerpoint)

On Jacobs' JETS contract we provide engineering services to JSC. Come join us and be a vital part of operating the largest space station ever built. We're looking for a Electrical Test and Verification Engineer on the Portable Life Support System (PLSS) team. The candidate selected for this role will: * Perform test engineering functions for the development, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and certification of Portable Life Support System (PLSS) components for the next generation of space suits. * Learn how to run an established test rig, as well as building new test rigs for the evaluation of actuators, potentiometers, temperature sensors, controllers and other components. * Develop documentation for the system including assembly procedures, test plans, and detailed acceptance test procedures. * Setup and execute tests and prepare summary reports documenting the test results. * Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities. * Generate and review paperwork and documents, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP). * Support hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within flight hardware, development test articles, or test support hardware. * Perform other duties as required. Required Education/Experience/Skills: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Preferences: * Experience with Life Support hardware, particularly electrical hardware related to data acquisition for sensors and actuators. * Experience with ISS flight hardware and Class I and Class IE processes. * Familiarity with the hardware elements of the oxygen loop (motors, pressure transducers, valves, controllers), ventilation loop (motors, fans, pumps, sensors), and thermal loop (pumps, relief valves, control valves, heating elements, water quality instrumentation, temperature sensors, and pressure transducers) systems.
