We have an immediate opportunity for a Test Engineer with pilot/military flight experience in a fighter/bomber platform. You will be part of a highly focused and diverse team of operational SMEs, software engineers and security test engineers. Together, your role is to provide agile support to mission planning developers and program managers in bringing the highest quality mission planning software to the warfighter.

This position can be based onsite in Orlando, FL or Lexington, MA. Relocation is available! We are seeking cleared candidates with an active Secret clearance and are motivated to hire!


The focus of this position is to conduct operationally representative evaluation of early release (development cycle) mission planning software with a focus on fighter/bomber capabilities (sensor planning, weapons planning, threat planning) and integration of client systems with Air Force networks and Air-Operations-Center (AOC) nodes.

Additional focus is on the use of real-world threat data and Orders of Battle to evaluate data compatibility and integrity from source to mission planning end products such as maps, flight knee-board cards, data cartridges and briefing materials. You will evaluate component level and system level planning capabilities for multiple weapon systems and will provide subject matter expertise for developers, program managers, users, government test agencies and other mission planning stakeholders. As the lead for platform level evaluations, you will plan, execute and report on evaluation activities and provide findings and recommendations back to developers and program managers.

  • Responsible for developing and coordinating operationally relevant test strategies for Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) environments.

  • Conducts end-to-end evaluations of JMPS systems. Activities include technical document development and review, hardware/software configuration management and control, system installation (workstation environment and networked/domain environments), operational test execution and deficiency reporting and analysis.

  • Works directly with software developers, program management and operational user community to identify JMPS functional, usability and performance deficiencies and to provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining evaluation procedures.

To be successful you will need these skills:

  • BS degree or equivalent and 8 12 years relevant experience including USAF/USN operational flying experience with fighter/bomber aircraft.

  • Expertise in unit level, wing level or AOC level planning. Previous mission planning experience is required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, and other systems engineers in the development of complex software systems.

  • Knowledge of force-level Command & Control data (Air Tasking Orders/Airspace Coordination Orders (ATO/ACO)).

  • Familiarization with Geographic Intelligence (GEOINT) data.

  • Previous JMPS experience is highly desired but not required.

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Highly Desired:

  • Strong knowledge of MS Windows environments

  • Knowledge of software testing concepts

  • Knowledge of Virtual Machine environments and their use

  • Knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMSs) setup and usage

  • Knowledge of software and systems engineering processes for software development life cycle

We are seeking a Software Integration Test Engineer located at Eglin AFB, FL. This position requires US citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance. Summary: You will be responsible to perform software integration evaluation and test of Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) software with Air Force Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) baseline operating systems (MS Windows 10). The emphasis will be on identifying software installation/integration/compatibility issues and cybersecurity compliance issues in support of our customer's acquisition and sustainment needs and to enable attainment of JMPS security accreditation and certification. You will also support design, development, and integration test of multiple software applications and tools developed by independent development teams where integration involves tight control of public interfaces leveraged across and between distinct components. This position includes the creation, test and management of JMPS Integrated Build Environments (JIBE). The JIBE work focuses on creation and validation of scripted installation methodologies intended for use by JMPS platform and component developers. In addition to verifying and or troubleshooting issues related to software installation, integration and compatibility, this position includes evaluation of software components against Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) established Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), review of system applications through cybersecurity testing and integration testing, prepare recommendations for system improvements; prepare system development documentation; verify and validate system compliance to cybersecurity requirements as necessary. Additionally, you will be responsible to Integrate solutions into existing customer infrastructure as well as determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to junior personnel.   Qualifications: * B.S degree in software engineering or a related technical field with 8-12+ years related experience or Master's degree in software engineering or a related technical field with 8+ years related experience. Experience with JMPS is highly desirable but not required. * Proficiency in computer applications, languages, technologies, advanced configurations, trouble shooting, system design, and networks. * Experience in creating, updating and troubleshooting .ini files * Experience managing COTS, and GOTS patches. * Familiarity with Windows Server 2012R2 to include active directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies. * Familiarity with Windows system internals. * Knowledge of and experience creating and managing GPOs and WMI filters. * Familiarity with network, switch, and firewall configuration. * DoDD 8570, Information Assurance Technical Level III certification, CISSP is preferred. * Knowledge of and familiarity with information assurance policy and guidance such as: Risk Management Framework and DIACAP processes; DISA STIGs; DoDD 5200 series to include 5205; DoDD 8500; NIST Special Publications 800-30, 800-37, 800-39, 800-53; CNSSI 4009 and NSA Guidelines; and JSIG.
