We are looking for a talented Test Engineer, II who will be responsible for performing standardized laboratory testing with internal project engineers and the laboratory team. You will support, develop, document, and analyze product quality and performance. Engineering knowledge and organizational skills are required to produce accurate, reliable, technical, and timely data for the Customer.
Main Responsibilities:
Technical responsibility for organizing and executing customer jobs
Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet customer specifications
Responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the test engineering field
Read and understand test specifications for inertia dynamometer, vehicle, and component bench testing projects
Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification
Act as a liaison with internal Customers with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the test engineering field.
Calculate inertia, wheel load, and max RPM required for the test
Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store, and retrieve files from the network, etc.
Write and troubleshoot scripts
Run manual brake applies on a dyno
Champion production, quality, and safety with countermeasure activities
Interaction with Project Engineer to obtain testing parameters, stage tests, report test results
Work with the laboratory staff to ensure quality testing
Communicate project needs to maintain organization and privacy of customer parts
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment
All other related duties as assigned
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory; equivalent related work experience also acceptable in lieu of education
High School Diploma
Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven knowledge of Test Engineering, including methods, equipment, reporting, analysis, designing experiments, etc.
Demonstrated experience being highly motivated and self-directed
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to lead complex projects
Technical aptitude to form hypothesis, verify test methods and draw conclusions
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong independent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement support
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Ability to use a computer
Physical Requirements:
The position is located in a mixed office and test laboratory environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity may include lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or sitting for long periods of time.
Ability to speak verbally, and read in English
Ability to see with corrective lenses
Ability to differentiate colors
Ability to hear
Ability to walk
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
