The test engineering organization has a need for an entry-level engineer in Rockwell Automation's largest engineering team. The successful candidate will have a passion in software development and automation with a desire to grow and help take the organization to the next level. He/she will join a dynamic team of engineers concentrating on complex automation tools, infrastructure, and test architecture. The candidate will dive in to perform engineering deliverables including automation, automated test case generation, and test design surrounded by peers in a collaborative environment.

  • Designs automated test cases and required modifications to tools and frameworks

  • Works with developers on test case design, characterization, and design for test.

  • Utilizes automated test tools and methods to ensure appropriate functional coverage is attained.

The senior engineer will be responsible for Managing DVTlab, mentoring a team consisting of both permanent and contractor testengineers for development and execution of the detailed product test andquality plans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible and accountable to meet the quality targets of NPD (new product development) and sustaining engineering programs. * Develop test strategies to assure/met quality, functionality and performance of the printers. Work hand-in-hand with R&D, program, factory and marketing teams to develop the test, quality plans to create cost-effective test strategy, * Responsible for quality and test processes including issue tracking system, reporting methods for issue closure rates, and weekly reports. Own continuing improvement plans regarding cycle time, effectiveness, and testing cost. * Own test planning activities, including the development and validation of test cases for Mechanical and Electrical performance and system level testing. Work with engineering, quality and customer support teams to assure test plans cover product features, performance and behavior expectations. * Work with out-source, ODM/OEM suppliers as needed to gain buy-in to test strategies and procedures, to enforce good processes at the suppliers, and to develop good teamwork and information sharing. * Responsible and accountable for product testing activities for all printer products. Lead the testing staff and work together with product teams as needed to resolve Severity 1, 2 and 3 issues in an efficient manner to support product launch plans. * Apply industry standards for printer performance, reliability and print quality testing across our product test plans. Follow emerging industry standards for printer testing and represent our business as appropriate in standards activities. * Oversee management of printer test labs, equipment, and calibration schedules Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Bachelor of Science Degree or comparable experience * Minimum of 7 years experience in QA and testing: leading the creation of test cases, writing test plans, establishing testing and quality processes.
