Position Description

As a Test Engineer, you will learn and develop skills related to medical device verification and validation as part of a cross-functional team:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve engineering protocols and reports, risk management, design controls, and other technical documents

  • Perform product testing based on engineering protocols and other technical documents

  • Debug electrical and software issues with new and existing devices and equipment via root cause analysis

  • Participate in certifying body certification projects (UL, TUV, etc.)

  • Communicate with various departments regarding actions required for project completion

  • Assist project engineers to meet deadlines for tests, complete milestones and day-to-day engineering tasks

  • Identify problems and initiate improvements to current testing techniques

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience utilizing standard electrical tools and test equipment

  • Ability to understand, analyze, and troubleshoot complex systems

  • Ability to understand technical documents, including but not limited to, engineering protocols, drawings and controlled procedures

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Technical aptitude and detail oriented

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and effective written aptitude

  • Uphold teamwork, excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently, resolve issues and manage multiple tasks

  • Maintain a cooperative attitude and show initiative to assist the team

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Experience with medical device, electrical, and software testing including documentation of results

  • Experience with technical writing

  • Familiar with the medical device design process

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations, IEC standards, and ISO quality systems
