POSITION PURPOSE

The Test Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and performing systems engineering test tasks associated with aircraft modification, modernization and maintenance. Will support the test effort required to integrate avionics, communications and ISR systems on multiple military platforms. Will support the development of test plans, test requirement flow down into test procedures and will perform System Operation and Verification Test (SOVT) for avionics, communications systems and special missions. Sets highest ethical standards for self and others. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Reviews contracts to determine documentation requirements for each phase of a project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.

  • Analyze proposed product design changes to determine the overall effect on the products and system(s).

  • Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by the company and subcontractors.

  • Review and analyze changes to released engineering data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control.

  • Participates in reviews and audits to enforce and ensure configuration procedures are being complied with per company processes.

    QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:

  • BS degree with 9 years, AS with 13 years or HS/GED with 17 years experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

  • Must understand basic electrical theory

  • Must be proficient in utilization of electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, etc.

  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting block diagrams, wire diagrams and circuit schematics to isolate component malfunctions

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Must have the ability to motivate others; sound effective listening skills; pays attention to details; ability to work under pressure; and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

Interpretation and modification of code as required including batch files, make files, Perl scripts, queries, stored procedures and/or triggers. Project scope may include writing automation test scripts for simulating user interactions such as data entry, menu selections, mouse actions, data I/O, etc. Application level configuration skills. 1-3 plus years software testing experience, 1 year in a Windows client/server environment. 1 year development and/or database administration experience using a Microsoft product.
