Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

General

  • Adhere to and implement established departmental concepts and principles.

  • Produces essential reports on a daily, weekly, monthly or ad hoc as necessary

  • Monitors project deliverables, as directed, to ensure project and functional leaders receive accurate, timely updates as required

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility

Test Data Management

  • Applies and promotes established enterprise test data management best practices and guidelines and recommends improvements

  • Determine data provisioning and masking requirements, to assist in the design and review of Informatica workflows, working with enterprise TDM development teams

  • Designs and implements test data management approaches and frameworks

  • Designs and develops Test Data Management workflows for Proof of Concept situations when new technologies or new use cases are encountered by the enterprise.

  • Conforms with and ensures compliance with established data security protocols

  • Manages and coordinates product upgrades and testing of TDM toolsets with enterprise development teams.

  • Assists enterprise TDM development teams with data profiling, and the development of new test data provisioning and test data masking use cases, researching solutions and addressing issues with the tool vendor, as necessary.

  • Develops solutions for provisioning and masking test data when out-of-the-box capabilities are found to be insufficient for use case requirements.

  • Provides DevOps support for migrating data provisioning code through a centralized infrastructure to production

  • Assists in the management of the Informatica infrastructure, including installing, configuration changes, performance tuning, monitoring, sizing, upgrading, etc.

  • Facilitates, design and/or integrates self service capabilities into the Test Data Management enterprise framework

  • Recommends improvement in test automation practices, techniques and tools.

  • Proficient with Informatica TDM tools, DQ, Powercenter, PowerExchange for IMS, and mainframe.

  • Proficient in SQL and Unix scripting

  • Good understanding of SDLC concepts in a DevOps "Continuous Integration" environment

  • Working knowledge of Relational DBMS like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Mainframe data store and files, and NoSQL Databases like MongoDB

  • Good understanding of database validations, constraints, syntax and data types.

  • Prefer someone with .net, Java, Jenkins skills

  • Understanding of SharePoint is a plus


Job Summary

As a Technology Engineer on the Test Data Management (TDM) Center of Excellence (CoE) and Infrastructure support team within the Data Administration area of Global Technology Services at Travelers, you'll be supporting and managing the enterprise-wide implementation and adoption of Test Data Management practices and toolsets. You'll work closely with TDM development teams in various Lines of Business (LOB) who are designing and building solutions to provision and mask production data to lower test environments. You'll participate in design and code reviews to ensure that Line of Business solutions meet CoE guidelines and implement well into the common enterprise TDM infrastructure. You'll participate in the administration the Informatica TDM infrastructure. You'll also lead or develop solutions for various projects targeted at improving, patching, or upgrading the TDM Infrastructure, and making the TDM assets more accessible to end-users via Self-Service capabilities, the development of which you may coordinate or participate in.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 5 years of experience in Technology preferred.

  • Experience with proprietary and open source databases, include SQL, Oracle, Mongo, DB2, etc.

  • Minimum 3 years of current experience writing SQL queries, triggers, stored procedures, investigating and mitigating performance issues, testing and verifying results

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience on Setup of Test Data Services, Data masking, Test Data Management strategy and implementation, Test Data strategies.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with test data management tools like Informatica TDM / IBM Optim / Delphix or other industry standard tools and technologies for Test Data Management

  • 1-3 years of Informatica Power Center and/or Test Data Management console experience, designing and developing data provision workflows

  • Experience administering Informatica development infrastructure, code management and deployment, software version upgrades and patch implementation and testing, including working with the vendor on problem trouble-shooting.

  • Experience in diagnosing complex technical issues

  • Experience in DevOps techniques and tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Git Hub, etc.

  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Framework, (CI/CD) and tools supporting such automation of the process

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. 3 years of experience in Technology required.
