This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana for an Engineering Test Cell Technician Intern.

As an Engineering Test Cell Technician Intern, you will be involved in various aspects of the test cell operations. Your key learning and development areas include transmission test set-up, execution, data collection and analysis. You will work closely with the assigned supervisor and complete a specific engineering project during the assignment. You will work daily in a state-of-the-art transmission testing facility. As an intern with Allison Transmission, Inc., you will be required to commit to a minimum of 10-weeks per assignment.
Gain exposure to various developmental activities in order to actively participate in product improvement activities.
Participate in transmission calibration and integration of the transmission within the engine and vehicle system.
Work cross-functionally with departments to improve product testing and drive product development.
Contribute to the development of specifications, analyzing data, summarizing and reporting results, maintaining records, and understanding technical writing.
Learn to set-up and operate test devices and measurement tools.
Present project results to management staff along with technical analysis of activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
No experience requirement current enrollment in a 4-year engineering technology program
Strong desire for hands-on mechanical work in a prototype shop setting
Demonstrated ability to communicate well in a business setting and across functional areas
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Basic mechanical aptitude
Programming and C-based languages
Dedicated mentor throughout the internship assignment
