The employee will be assigned to a software project to design, develop and maintain automated testing scripts for applications, programs, and other software. The employee, acting as lead, will be responsible for automation testing on the assigned project. The individual will be required to collaborate with, delegate and manage other testing resources from a project perspective to ensure the overall success of the testing effort. There are multiple projects and positions available. Required employee skills vary by project, so all those interested who have a background comparable to the requirements are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with developers, quality assurance analysts, and other stakeholders on software projects
Design and develop automated testing scripts for applications using automation tools
Lead the automation testing effort by guiding a team of other individuals. Delegate tasks, make time estimations for task completion, ensure overall effort is running smoothly to reach testing and project goals.
Communicate with client, business units, and/or project teams regarding status, progress, issues, and other topics related to overall testing effort.
Implement and maintain automated testing scripts
Execute test scripts while tracking results
Create defect status reports and validate bug fixes
Requirements
Knowledge of Java development or other object-oriented programming languages
Working knowledge of SQL
Knowledge of SDLC
Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills
Previous experience with Visual Studio, Selenium, Quick Test Pro, Sahi, or Test Complete is a plus
Previous testing experience a plus
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and debug software issues
Bachelor degree in IT related field is a plus

This entry-level, development opportunity offers you the chance to study towards nationally recognized qualifications while gaining hands-on, paid work experience. Our apprentices attend college part-time studying theory elements of the apprenticeship while working at a GSK Manufacturing facility. Over the 4 years in the Program, you will build technical and leadership skills through rotations across various GSK site engineering teams. Your rotations may include time in manufacturing, packaging, maintenance and utilities.
