Do you love working with teams? Do you enjoy being in the middle of everything? The Test Automation and Factory Engineering directorate of Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) division of Raytheon Technologies is seeking an engineering leader with experience in executing and transitioning test projects across development and production. This position will reside in the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC).

This position is a notable role covering many RIS programs, emphasizing test automation projects performing duties of critical analysis, metrics collection, meeting facilitation and Scrum Master. The IPTL Deputy will maintain the execution of the schedule and deliverables, serve as a control account manager (CAM), perform at a high operational tempo and demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changes in both the plan and/or priorities while maintaining follow through rigor that is appropriate to a transitioning and active production environment. This position will both implement projects directly and assist other IPTLs as need be. The position will requiring regular contact with multiple organizations and sites.

Responsibilities include providing assistance in control account ownership, metrics analysis programs and enterprise trending, and key program engagement. These inputs will be vital for the teams to meet the customer needs and acceptance criteria.

Job Related Activities:

  • Assistance in Integrated Product Team Leadership responsibilities for the overall technical implementation of the test automation projects.

  • Communication and interface to program leadership and to both internal customers.

  • Assistant CAM duties to include cost and schedule responsibility for the production test control account, including task ownership, staffing coordination, variance analysis and earned value reporting. Coordination of resolution of engineering challenges through program and functional management.

  • Managing Test resources (including people, facilities, and equipment) efficiently to implement the team's plan.

  • Ensuring the consistent application of engineering best practice and all activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with Raytheon's IPDS processes.

  • Generate management overview slides (both technical and EAC) and present them to both program and Raytheon functional direction.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4+ years' experience in Engineering, as an Analyst or a Team lead

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience and track record

  • Experience in working with cross site/WFH teams.

  • Experience in preparing management level briefings and summary explanations

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication capability, and ability to work in an integrated product team environment

  • Demonstrated data collection and trending analysis. Focusing on root cause drivers of variance.

  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in cost account management (CAM)

  • Experience with Agile utilization/environment

  • Experience in proposal development including BOE creations

  • Experience in generating technical documents

  • Experience in Operations and Factory environments including: procedure development, test, training, transition planning, installation, and deployment

  • Experience with leading formal reviews such as Test Readiness Review (TRR), Failure Review Board (FRB), Consent to Ship Review (CTSR)

  • Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transition to production environments performing STE hardware, software, & firmware integration and test activities

  • Proficient in Project, JIRA, Powerpoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, RTC, DOORS, Estaff, Visio Ability to close on actions, drive change and empower team members to think outside the box Experience with testing hardware and/or STE supporting testing activities Required


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Desired Education: Advanced degree in a related field
