Technical expert with knowledge and experience in test automation. Design, develop and execute robust, high-quality automated test scripts. Analyze and report test results, including test summary conclusions and improvement recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Facilitates the gathering and documenting of automation objectives and requirements for input into automation test plan.

  • Reviews automation test plans for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensures adherence to enterprise testing standards, frameworks, and controls.

  • Documents automation requirements and other automation test planning artifacts.

  • Uses SQL and provides for mining of test data for Test Automation.

  • Works collaboratively with other supporting areas to plan, design, execute and report on automation testing.

  • Compiles automation test results data, and prepares and reports test results both formally and informally.

  • Coordinates and facilitates automation test planning, design and execution sessions.

  • Compiles automation test results data, and prepares and reports test results.

  • Makes automation improvement recommendations as needed.

  • Communicates results information to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Assists with coordinating a team of resources in automating an application.

  • Responsible for being "Hands On" in developing a Test Framework and establishing best practices surrounding test automation.

  • Configures, executes, monitors, and troubleshoots automation tests in a variety of situations and conditions.

  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent education and related training.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on automation testing and/or automation engineering experience.

  • Experience with continuous delivery methodologies.

  • Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium and Winium, and effective implementation techniques.

  • Intermediate to advanced level experience and competency in creation, design and execution of automation tests, and analysis and reporting of results.

  • Intermediate level experience with historical problematic technologies as they apply to automated testing.

  • Strong technical and testing skills with demonstrated knowledge of various software testing strategies and approaches.

  • Requires little supervision, self-starter that can work independently and collaboratively, while remaining effective at reporting status on tasks daily.

  • Strong detail orientation.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate and document project status and complex issues effectively.

  • Strong documentation skills with ability to create clear, concise, detailed project artifacts that meet the standards of the Automation Testing Team.

  • Some experience and competency with a programming or scripting language.

  • Some experience with middleware technologies.

  • Knowledge and experience with distributed systems, web application technologies, web services, and multi-layered architectures.

  • Knowledge and experience with multiple relational database systems. Some knowledge and experience with mainframe systems as they relate to end-to-end testing.

  • Knowledge of various environmental elements as they relate to testing (i.e. networking, hardware, software, mid-tier, etc.), and the ability to effectively assist with troubleshooting as needed.

  • Ability to travel, as needed

Desired Skills:

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline.
