The TES 4-H Assistant will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the goals and objectives for the Limestone County 4-H program. For the County 4-H Program, the TES Assistant will work with schools and volunteers to coordinate and/or facilitate in-school, after-school, and special-interest community 4-H clubs.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
Assistance with special projects
Seasonal work
Emergencies

Essential Functions
The Agent Assistant delivers in-school and out-of-school programs for youth and serves as a member of the Limestone County 4-H Team, The Agent Assistant will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the goals and objectives of the 4-H youth program and other youth enrichment and educational activities as needed for the Limestone County Extension office. The Agent Assistant will follow specific lesson plans designed to broaden youth's social and cognitive skills through hands-on activities. The Agent Assistant will report to the County Extension Coordinator and will assist and/or work with 4-H Foundation Agent in activities that benefit the youth of the county.
Must have good organizational and basic technology skills. Will assist and/or work with the County Extension Coordinator and 4-H Youth Development Coordinator in activities that benefit the youth of the county.
Travel to program sites is reimbursed monthly.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have good organizational skills to maintain accurate records of youth education sessions and impact, as well as follow the guidelines and policies of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
The successful applicant must have a demonstrated interest in working with youth concerning a variety of issues in an educational setting, the ability to follow instructions related to work with minimum supervision from professional staff; and have access to reliable transportation.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with gardening and or working with animals (chickens, horses, cattle) is desired.
