Job Description:

Pentair currently has an opening for a technical sales professional to join our Flow Technologies team as a Territory Sales Manager based in the Pacific Northwestern USA Region (WA, OR, AK, & HI). In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will promote Pentair's products & brands (e.g. Sta-Rite, Myers, Berkeley, etc.) by effectively utilizing marketing programs and leveraging field resources. This person will also be expected to drive sales by supporting our channel partners as well as providing distributor & end-user product trainings. This position will be based out of a major metropolitan area in this region (e.g. Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; etc.).

You will:

  • Achieve sales goals for targeted product lines.

  • Establish and develop key relationships with local communities of Well Drillers, Plumbers, Irrigation Specialists, Pump Installers, Distributors, and other key End-Users.

  • Provide support to end-users on product training through educational seminars.

  • Regularly call on end-users in the assigned territory in order to ultimately drive end-user conversions.

  • Identify new sales opportunities and create value-added offerings in the Water Supply, Water Disposal, & Agriculture/ Irrigation segments.

  • Regularly travel to attend events, meet with distributors & customers, etc. (up to 50% Overnight Travel is expected).

  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

You should:

  • Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree (e.g. B.A. or B.S.).

  • Have at least 3 years of professional experience working with Sales and/or Marketing of technical products.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written & verbal).

We like, but don't require:

  • Completion of technical coursework; Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field of study if a plus.

  • Deep experience working with pumps and/or mechanical rotating equipment; hands-on experience working with water pumps, well pumps, and/or irrigation pumps is a plus.

  • Hands-on skills with mechanical and electrical systems; advanced understanding of drives (especially VFD's) is a plus.

  • Understanding of Residential and/or Commercial Irrigation markets experience working with skilled trades service providers (e.g. Plumbers, General Contractors, Construction, etc.) as well as homeowners is a plus.

  • Above-average understanding of channel sales models; experience working with a variety of channel partners (e.g. Distributors, Dealers, Contractors, and/or Installers) is a plus.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, organize, plan, meet difficult deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills.

  • Proven ability to make group presentations.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a goal-oriented, high energy self-starter who meets and exceeds goals / targets; previous experience working successfully in telecommuting / home-based situations is preferred.

  • Above-average proficiency in relevant software programs (e.g. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), CRM (Salesforce.com is preferred), etc.).
