Murray Equipment is seeking a skilled and qualified individual as an Outside Sales Manager for the North Central territory. Outside Sales Managers are responsible for maximizing the profitability from assigned markets and territories for distribution and manufacturing of fluid handling equipment and automated controls to the Agricultural Industry.

Simply put, we put our customers first. About the job: Murray Equipment’s Ag Division, sells their products to liquid fertilizer dealers throughout the United States.

Our territory managers travel their assigned territories calling directly on these dealers, to provide solutions for their agricultural retail/wholesale plant improvements, upgrades and expansions. Initially, the successful candidates will intern / travel with our current area managers in their respective territories supporting current and pending sales. This will require traveling to facilities as needed.

Many of our sales are to established accounts. During the first six months training will be at our Fort Wayne office. Final territory assignments will take place once the territory manager successfully completes training in about 6-12 months Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned. Promotes product awareness within the assigned markets and territories. Receives customer inquiries and performs follow up procedures to include providing price quotes, new product information, and receiving feedback regarding company products and services.

Conducts initial site survey and perform needs assessment. Collaborates with Customers and business partners to determine project goals and objectives. Generates Preliminary Flow Diagrams and drawings Acquires customer approval of flow diagrams and time estimates.

Acquires customer acceptance including approval of flow diagrams and quotations Follows up with sales leads generated through incoming calls, advertising campaigns and other promotional efforts. Travels to customer locations to present company products, training, services and pricing information in a professional manner. Contacts prospective and current customers to solicit sales of company products and services.

Applies technical knowledge of company products and services to best meet customer engineered solutions. Provides current and prospective customers with the most accurate information regarding our products and services. Directs customers to the appropriate corporate resources.

Collaborates with Credit Manager to identify most appropriate credit and payment terms. Maintains appropriate records for the development of sales forecasts for the territory. Submits appropriate paperwork on a timely basis to management such as territory forecast, expense reports and call reports.

Understands and supports company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers and foster the development of long term business relationships. Assists and resolves customer complaints in a timely manner, notifies management of problems and suggests corrective actions. Collects and reports competitive information to management.

Attends training activities and trade shows on behalf of company to present information regarding company products and services.

Assists in regional marketing efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Technical College or Equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred 3 years business sales / marketing or equivalent field experience in the Ag Industry and pumping systems, hydraulics, or liquid flow meters.

Valid Passport and Drivers License Physical Requirements: Air Travel: Domestic and International (must have or be able to obtain a US Passport) Auto Travel: (must have or be able to obtain a valid Driver’s License and meet the MEI Driver Administration Risk Reduction Tactics Program requirements) Lifting up to 70 pounds Office and Onsite environment Compensation:
