Pall Corporation's Fluid Technologies and Asset Protection business is seeking a highly motivated, Territory Sales Manager with a consistent track record for meeting/exceeding business development and sales goals, to join our outstanding Fluid Technologies and Asset Protection sales team. In this key business development role you will work in the assigned territory to penetrate the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical & Chemical markets, growing sales, developing new account strategies, and maintaining/expanding existing business. The incumbent will work remotely based out of his/her home office. The territory covered will be the greater Houston area, the Sweeny/Old Ocean Texas region and the greater New Orleans area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop/implement a customer account plan to achieve orders and revenue projections

  • Expand customer base (networking, lead follow-up and conversion)

  • Drive sales of new products and applications

  • Develop and cultivate productive long-term relationships with customer senior management and decision-makers

  • Identify new opportunities to build profitable market share and sustainable competitive advantage, creating new value for new and existing customers who operate in the Oil & Gas and Refinery

  • Partner with customers, building sustainable relationships and using customer insights and decision criteria to drive solutions to address current and future needs

  • Create and maintain customer profile and SWOT including sales potential, operating structure, sites, contacts, and other relevant information

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of customer preferences, needs and anticipated needs/trends (to develop and implement commercial strategy)

  • Keep abreast of competitive activity at existing customers and actively direct field sales personnel to customer accounts as needed

  • Work with sales management and services team to ensure ongoing sales of aftermarket and service based products

  • Establish and track account performance metrics

  • Provide business analysis including data trends, customer retention, funnel success and addressable/attainable market

  • Maintain appropriate databases and Sales Funnel Management in CRM, RFQ alert, SOA's, Site/Plant list, Project/Quote Tracking

  • Utilize product and application sales tools (including success stories, customer presentations, installation lists, return on investment calculations and sample proposals) to support distributor activities and provide technical and commercial support to distributors

  • Stay abreast of industry trends - enabling positioning of products for maximum advantage

  • Apply knowledge of business climate, market dynamics and trends as well as market potential to develop/implement account plans that get results

  • Use knowledge of competition to influence business plans

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in providing equipment to Refinery and Oil & Gas, industries.

  • Fluid filtration and separations experience.

  • Business or technical degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical engineering or a technical degree preferred

  • Experience executing at each stage of the sales process and adept at guiding others in developing selling skills

  • Prior experience with sales funnel management (Salesforce or equivalent)

  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, troubleshooting, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are strongly preferred

  • Experience with strategic selling to large regional or global companies

  • Understanding of Pall products

  • Understanding of financial business drivers and their impact on business and market behavior

  • Experience uncovering, pursuing, and guiding others on attaining new prospects via networking

  • Experience with interpreting sales reports and applying insights to create territory plans

  • Demonstrated expertise in driving customer segmentation strategy and ensuring resources are optimally allocated across segments

  • Proficiency understanding customer needs and buying behaviors

VIEW JOBS 5/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-11T00:00 Summary: The Territory Sales Manager establishes the distribution and develops the sale of company products within an assigned geographic territory. Will identify, call on, and manage retail, wholesale and designated chain accounts for expanding distribution and increasing sales volume. Will identify sales opportunities in all trade classes and execute quality sales calls to increase product visibility, availability and consumer take-away at retail within the geography. Travel will be required. This position has no personnel management responsibilities and reports to the Region Sales Manager. The normal shift is 40 hours per week in the field, with extended hours, as needed. This position may be assigned special projects, as determined by the Region Sales Manager. Essential Functions: * Call on a specified route list of independent retail calls on a designated coverage frequency for gaining product distribution, positioning and placing point-of-sale-materials. * Improve NTC product positioning through display placements, improved shelf position and placing promotional offerings as available. These efforts will be supported with product pricing pieces, P.O.S. placements, shelf order tags, and order guide work and pre T books/advance orders through distributors. * Enter all call activities into the RW3 Sales Call Reporting system. * Gather and report competitive intelligence. * Build business partnerships with store owners based on fact-based, financial selling skills. * Manage a product contingency fund for having product and funds on-van to seed new product distribution, provide promotions and to fill-in low and out-of-stock situations. * Call on and manage designated wholesale distributors within the geography. Conduct Business Reviews with distributors and recommend business-building distribution drives/promotional programs. * Call on and manage designated regional chain accounts as assigned. Requirements: * Must have 3-5 years outside selling experience at retail and wholesale; * Bachelor's degree preferred; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Excellent selling skills and ability to forge business partnerships that help close the sale; * Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while achieving Go To Market goals and objectives; * Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems quickly; * Ability to plan and prioritize route list call coverage and frequency to achieve specified Go To Market Plan coverage goals. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. Solid presentation skills as presentations to small groups (internally and externally) are required; * Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record; * Ability to use and communicate basic business math and interpret internal/external industry data and reports; * Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations. * General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS.
