Join Ecolab's sales team as a Territory Manager in the Kansas City, KS market. Within our industry leading Institutional division, this outside sales offers comprehensive chemical products and solutions to meet the needs of customers across the foodservice and hospitality industries. After completing an initial training program, you will be assigned to an established territory of customers including restaurants, hotels, schools, long-term care facilities, and more. You will serve as the face of Ecolab, providing recommendations on advanced cleaning and sanitation processes and programs that drive a positive guest experience and create cleaner, safer, and healthier environments.

What You Will Do:

  • Grow sales within an existing territory of food service and hospitality accounts by providing customers with training, regular and emergency service and sales demonstrations

  • Cold-call and prospect to secure new accounts, as you build Ecolab's brand in your market

  • Learn customers' warewashing systems and devise unique solutions as their expert on advanced cleaning and sanitation processes and programs

  • Apply your mechanical aptitude to install, repair and perform maintenance on ware washing, laundry and dispensing equipment and systems; leveraging this service to strengthen the customer relationship

  • Ensuring that your customers' facilities are fully operational and teams are properly trained by demonstrating safe equipment use

Position Details:

Candidate must reside within 30 miles of Kansas City, KS

Weekend Rotation: 1 in 10 weekends

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1 year of outside sales experience

  • Willing to be on call during off hours and during weekend coverage

  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

  • No Immigration Sponsorship available

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to complete pre-employment assessments including a physical, lift and carry 50 pounds, color vision test and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous business to business commercial sales experience

  • Industry related experience in food service, laundry, housekeeping, hospitality and/or pool and spa

  • Mechanical problem solving experience (e.g. plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or mechanical experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary This position entails selling the entire line of ADC Products to a regional market based accounts, with a strong emphasis on government sales. The selling process includes developing new business in defined regional accounts, as well as growing existing customer base. It includes determining customer needs, developing account specific strategies, creating customer commitment to change, and implementing conversion (training and start up) upon close. The position includes any of the following customer types: Federal Government Medical Centers, including, but not limited to Dept of Defense (MTF's), VA Medical Centers, Indian Health Tribes, Public Health agencies, and Managed Care. Main Responsibilities Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Selling, including cross-divisional initiatives and customer base development. Assess business impact of contracting opportunities to include overall profitability and impact on sales and margin. Working to ensure optimal territory management and efficient implementations/training. Account Management/Customer Care. Leadership and self development. Effectively manage assigned budget while maximizing return on investment. Accountability This position will be responsible for developing business in accounts that are regional in scope. Other accountabilities include budgeting, customer VIP trips to key locations, semi-annual business reviews, accurate forecasting, preparation of customer business plans, and new product distribution. Qualifications 1. Four year degree in Business, Communications, Health Sciences or equivalent experience. 2. A high degree of computer literacy (functional ability to use Microsoft Office expected). 3.0 to 5.0 years of proven successful sales track record at Abbott Laboratories or equivalent. Will generally require 4+ years of successful sales experience if candidate is from outside of Abbott Laboratories.
