Terrain Parks

  • Grooming Specialist FT Winter Seasonal Northstar California

The Terrain Park Grooming Specialist will assist the terrain park manager and terrain park grooming supervisor in the overall delivery of the terrain park experience for our employees and guests. This individual is responsible to assist with the development of all features, including jumps, halfpipes, quarterpipes, contest and special event venues. The specialist will also assist with the supervision, training, and motivation of other operators. The terrain park Grooming Specialist will perform a daily risk management assessment of all recently executed projects and will be responsible for constructing features and pipe products that diffenentiate our parks from other programs due to overall quality. The specialist will assist with developing and managing a training program to ensure that other operators can perform at the highest level regarding all general maintenance in parks and pipes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Grooming Specialist must possess an array of operator skills including but not limited to...

  • Halfpipe construction and daily maintenance

  • For all Pipes

  • 13', 18', 22' and various quarterpipes
  • Tubing Hill construction and maintenance

  • Must be able to to plan halpipe development and maintenance schedule

  • Winch operations

  • All around run grading, halfpipe maintenance, and Terrain Park Jump Feature maintenance

  • Park Construction

  • Must be able to construct every type of Terrain Park feature for both public and private participation

  • Leadership

  • Must be able to develop a halfpipe operator training program and assist eith employee development

  • Must be flexible with work schedule to assure timely construction of park products

  • Assist terrain park manager and grooming supervisor with the training, coaching, supervising, and leading of terrain park operators

  • Lead terrain park attendants to effectively monitor and maintenance all terrain parks, half pipes, events, and other areas of responsibility throughout the day

  • Perform a Daily assessment of risk, feature inspections and determine daily maintenance required on transitional features.

  • Assist all supervisors and terrain park manager in planning with all associated features, trails, special events, and other construction plans

  • Act as role model regarding employee development and guest service related initiatives

  • Assist in all trainings for operators including all daily objectives and special projects needs

  • Other duties as assigned by Terrain Park Manager/ Day Staff supervisor

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Minimum of 10 years of prior terrain park experience

  • Minimum of 3 season of supervisory experience

  • Must be competent in Microsoft office

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalency

  • Must be able to pass a Level 7 skiing/riding ability test

  • Must have own ski or ride equipment

  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs.

Responsible for assisting the execution of the Tōst experience at Northstar California; Tōst invites guests to enjoy a bubbly toast on the slopes this season it will be offered every day on the snow at 2 p.m., this tradition is a nod to Northstar's casual elegance and the best of Tahoe. We are seeking candidates with extensive knowledge of the Tahoe area, a charismatic personality, and well-spoken to present the Northstar Tōst. You will be responsible for the assistance in the setup, service, and breakdown. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Maintain cleanliness of the tost location including the storage unit and designated space at Summit Smokehouse. * Ensure that at the end of day the location is broken down properly and ready for snow or grooming at the location * Ensure the excellence and consistency of the product, service and ambiance of the entire event experience for the guest. * Meet or exceed all necessary food handling/sanitation qualifications and certifications. * Provides clean work station including taking out trash, cleanliness of the glasses, inventory of the products and stocking. * Flexible working hours. * Able to stand for long periods of time * Able to lift at least 50 lbs. * Intermediate/expert skier or rider Qualifications: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); * Must be 21 Years Old * One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * CA Food Handler Card * In-person interview - required With diverse tree-lined mountain trails, a world-class terrain park and a vibrant village, Northstar is the perfect setting for families and snow sports enthusiasts alike.
