Position Overview

Responsible for examining the more complex termite damange claims in assigned geographic region(s) to determine nature and extent of loss using estimates/appraisals to review and document claim. Conducts liability and root cause investigations on identified claims. Assists in determination of resolution of claim. This is an individual contributor position and does not manage people.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle termite damage claims (review and determine course of action on each claim assigned for supporting final disposition of a loss)

  • Work directly with internal and external customers to develop evidence and establish facts on assigned claims

  • Travel to high risk/profile claims to determine root cause, remedial treatment requirements and proper scope of damage repairs.

  • Conduct thorough investigations and keep accurate and relevant documentation of activity within each claim assigned

  • Organize, plan and prioritize work activities to track and stay current with claim assignments and to ensure prompt conclusion of claims

  • Support BU and Field through branch visits to conduct training, claims investigations and resolution.

  • Monitor Claims Xpress system to ensure claims from cradle to grave.

  • Provide field training for branch management teams on proper claims handling, processing and use of Claims Xpress platform.

  • Monitor and ensure that the Terminix Contractor Network is appropriately maintained to ensure contractor compliance and levels based on claim volume and need.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in handling/processing termite damage claims

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred

  • Licenses/certifications as required Excellent customer service

  • Deliver results

  • Ability to work independently and in team environment

  • Problem solving skills

  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work activities to stay current with claim assignments and to ensure prompt conclusion of claims

  • Detail oriented/analytical

  • Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

  • Crawling under structures, crawling/walking through attics, and other structural components as required

  • Sitting for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers, phones and etc.

  • Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.

  • Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm's reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside and outside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating as well as working outdoors in the elements and seasonal weather patterns of hot and cold conditions
