Summary:

Performs safe loading and unloading of tank trucks and liquid barge cargo for ACBL and contracted customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all ACBL Safety policies and procedures as well as government regulatory requirements for loading / unloading or transport

  • Load/unload tank trucks to/from barges that consists of loading/unloading approximately 30 tanker trucks on each day of transfer

  • Operate equipment such as compressors, pumps, transfer piping and valves

  • Act as Person-in-Charge (PIC) of marine transfer operations as required, including operation of loading equipment such as hose connections transfer piping and valves

  • Serve as a Facility Alternate Security Officer (AFSO) and work with Facility Manager to ensure facility is in compliance with local, U.S. Coast Guard and OSHA standards/requirements/laws

  • Assist in annual Security Audit when conducted by ACBL regulatory compliance or by 3rd party contractor

  • Checks maintenance and proper function of tank valves, line valves and pumps

  • Operate forklift

  • Operate and maintain facility storm water system as required for NPDES, SPCC, and SWPPP permits and plans

  • Responsible for performing water analysis to ensure water discharges are within approved limits for NPDES permit

  • Inspections of facility and completion of documentation as required

  • Facility upkeep and maintenance (ex: painting/pressure washing, etc.)

  • Performs mechanical repairs to the terminal as required

  • Other duties as needed

Education/Experience/Demands:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Must be able to work injury free and contribute to an injury free environment

  • Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs. independently

  • Participate in monthly safety meetings, quarterly security and spill drills, complete annual on-line training requirements, and additional training/drills as required

VIEW JOBS 1/7/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-07T00:00 Summary: This position is responsible for supervising transfers, including safe loading and unloading of liquid barge cargo for ACBL and contracted customers. Incumbents in this position must possess and maintain USCG licensing. Performs safe loading and unloading of tank trucks for ACBL and contracted customers. Essential Duties/Functions: Follow all ACBL Safety policies and procedures as well as government regulatory requirements for loading / unloading or transport Follow pre-transfer inspection requirements; execute pre-transfer conference and the Declaration of Inspection Connect cargo hoses or loading arms; Initiate pumping; increasing pressure appropriately to normal discharge pressure Perform calculation of loading rate; monitor all loadings to insure safe and environmentally proper procedure is followed; secure cargo systems Perform periodic shut-down and start-up of barge during transfer to accommodate delays in trucks being spotted Communicate with terminal operators during transfer by radio or hand signals Perform minor repairs to barge equipment Responsible to create and submit tankerman time sheets at the end of each cargo transfer Responsible for contacting the local fleet for pick-up when barge discharge is complete Perform above tankerman duties at other ACBL customer docks/terminals as required Additional terminal duties: Load/Unload tank trucks to/from barges Operate equipment such as compressors, pumps, transfer piping and valves Checks maintenance and proper function of tank valves, line valves and pumps Operate forklift Backup to perform water analysis to ensure water discharges are within approved limits for NDPES permit Facility upkeep and maintenance (ex: painting/pressure washing, etc) Other duties as needed Education Requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Years of Experience: Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Tankerman Demands: Yearly benzene physical and respirator fit tes. Must be able to operate PHD lite four stage gas meters, including maintenance, calibration, operation and reading interpretation Complete Declaration of Inspection and other required documents Ability to read, speak and understand the English language as required by USCG CFR. Must be able to perform barge inspections, audits and repairs when not conducting a transfer Hold a valid driver's license Participate in monthly safety meetings, quarterly security and spill drills, complete annual on-line training requirements, and additional training/drills as required Work on call schedule as needed Ability to climb steep stairs or ladders Lift or move 60 lbs. independently Must be respirator fit at all times and clear fit testing annually Adherence to safety standards required Must possess valid, and current, MMD endorsed as Tankerman-PIC (Barge) Dangerous Liquids through USCG American Commercial Lines LLC Memphis TN
