As a valued crew member, the terminal operator will work in a team environment with leadership to optimize efficiency while focusing on safety every shift. Being a member of Sprague's terminal operations will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of operations including but not limited to off-loading barges, preventative maintenance, customer service and general upkeep of the terminal. Joining Sprague's team will provide you with the earning potential near $45,000 in your first year with overtime shifts. Our valued night teams are looking for team players with mechanical aptitude and internal drive to keep our operations strong. This is an overnight shift!

Your duties and responsibilities can include, but are not limited to any of the following:

  • Operation of ticket booth

  • Night watchman responsibilities

  • Assist with mooring vessels

  • Operation of hoisting cranes

  • Operation of conveyor system

  • Gauging of oil tanks

  • Assist with maintenance of grounds, buildings and/or equipment

  • Occasional travel to other Sprague facilities out of state

  • Other duties as required

Education / Experience / Skill

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a general laborer

  • Knowledge of basic math

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Valid driver's license

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical activity/strength requirements are demanding and may include:\

  • Standing up to 75% of the day

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs (i.e. steel parts, spouts)

  • Carrying up to 50 lbs (i.e. oil, parts, tools)

  • Pulling up to 75 lb capacity (i.e. mooring lines)

  • Extended climbing (i.e. tank ladders/stairs/ramps)
