The Terminal Operator will be responsible for the loading of bulk trucks in a safe, efficient and timely manner from the designated silos as instructed by the Terminal Manager. The candidate will also ensure that each load is completed to the customer's specification within legal limits. He/she will spot railcars over the loading area to connect the cars with the unloading equipment and continuously monitor the unloading process while safely operating manual unloading gates, air valves and blowers.

The candidate for this position must adhere to company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner. Other key functions of this position include cleaning all areas of the terminal and grounds, and obtaining daily/weekly samples.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required

  • Ability to lift 75 - 100 pounds on a regular and repeated basis

  • Ability to bend, use broom and shovel

  • Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet

  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold

  • Ability to work in enclosed areas, such as railcars, dust collectors, and pump pits

  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions

  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors for cutting grass

  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts up to 7 days a week

  • Ability to work alone at night without immediate supervision

  • Ability to read and comprehend safety and operating instructions

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Functions/Primary Goals/Objectives: This entry level position allows new operators to become familiar with plant procedures and policies, which enable them to learn the basics of their assigned dryer. On dryer #4, the operator will learn the operation of the Dryer and CIP Systems and will assist the dryer technicians and specialists with more complex systems. This will facilitate their development towards positions of increasing responsibility. In addition, the operator will learn operational knowledge of powder transport systems and IBC handling and storage systems. Operators will gain operational knowledge and applicable tasks of evaporating batches, product sterilization, drying product, weighing and adding vitamins, add up corrections, troubleshooting and CIP of equipment. Will need to learn and follow all GMP and safety guidelines, to stay in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations. Major Responsibilities: * Fluid bed operation * Weighing/adding minerals and vitamins * Forklift operations * Assisting dryer technicians w/production and CIP * Housekeeping tasks/sanitation procedures * Operation of IBC filling stations * Assembly/disassembly of IBC systems * Assembly/disassembly of various powder transport systems * Evaporator system operation and CIP * Injector system operation and CIP * Dryer system operation and CIP * Fines reinjection system and CIP * IBC filling, handling, storage (forklift operation) * Powder handling systems (transporters to hopper) * Giving direction and assistance to operators Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Experience: 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
