Job Summary

  • Lead, guide and direct terminal employees to include setting targets, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development.

  • Accountable for the management of an efficient, clean and safe LTL operation.

  • Responsible for all hiring, training and terminations; assuring all paperwork is processed according to proper Company guidelines with appropriate levels of follow up with management on timely task completion.

  • Enforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures; safety rules and government regulations.

  • Develop and deliver internal and external strategies to provide superior service to Estes' customers. Implement, analyze and monitor to ensure revenue, service goals, expenses, profits, budgets, and internal/external obligations with Estes' business partners are met.

  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of an annual yearly business plan for the terminal, along with Terminal strategies, Quarterly Business Reviews and Period P&L Analysis.

  • Support customer relationships, oversee profit and cost controls, and ensure safety, service, and quality measures are implemented, audited and monitored for corrections

  • Manage / oversee all terminal functions to include dock, city operations and scheduling for all timely freight deliveries

  • Responsible for meeting all the KPI's set forth by the company.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments such as safety, sales, claims, loss prevention, customer care, and fleet services

  • Directly investigate the source of customer complaints and respond accordingly to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities

  • Act as Company's representative before government agencies or legal representatives

  • Regular attendance is required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • A minimum of five years management experience in the LTL industry preferred

  • Must have good computer skills (AS400 and MS Office a plus)

  • Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills

  • Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees

  • Possess excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills

  • Excellent planning and organization skills

  • Ability to create, implement and monitor training programs

  • Some traveling required

  • Must have a strong work ethic and good problem solving skills

  • Must be willing to work 50 hours/ week average

  • Must be able to work any shift and in all areas relative to the needs of the terminal and in any weather condition

  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

  • Must be able to interact well with others

  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

  • Must be able to lift approximately 10-15 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

VIEW JOBS 10/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-08T00:00 POSITION PURPOSE The Installation Services Manager (ISM) is a critical role in the Home Services organization at The Home Depot. ISMs cover up to 3 districts based on geography. Their primary responsibilities are to drive quality and customer service through management of the relationship with Service Providers (installer companies) bases on geographic location, relative skills and capabilities, ensuring store connectivity and driving Issue Resolution as it is related to Home Depot's Installation services. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Service Provider Quality Management - develop and maintain professional customer and Service Provider (SP) relationships. Responsible for the recruitment, assignment, retention and quality assurance of SP's within the assigned market area. Negotiate terms of contracts with SPs. Authorized to provided immediate feedback to SPs on discretionary project modifications to improve result performance. Conduct job site inspections and evaluations of the final product delivered by the SPs. Execute consistent monthly Quality Reviews with select SPs to drive high customer service. * Branch/Store Support - Communicates with Branch Management, Sales Managers and Project Coordinators to drive customer service metrics of cycle time and VOC. Responsible for cost controls of materials and labor charges. May act as an interface with Sales and Store associates to provide technical training and support. Support lead generation events. Partner with Sr. Leadership to execute Program initiatives. Escalates potential program gaps by engaging business reviews and developing attack plans for under-performing areas. * Issue Resolution - Provides accurate, swift resolution of escalated customer issues. Uses independent judgment for managing unexpected cost increases (due to additional labor and/or materials) and for customer satisfaction adjustments. Accountable for job cost and gross margin, coaches store management, store associates and installers on proper and quick resolution. Performs in-home inspections as needed. NATURE AND SCOPE Position Reports to: Branch Installation Manager Number of Direct Reports: 0 ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. TRAVEL Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Age: 18 Must pass drug and background tests. EDUCATION REQUIRED The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 03 PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
