Terminal Manager-Denver, CO

This is a full-time, exempt position.

BASIC FUNCTION: Administers policies and procedures through terminal employees in terminals, coordinating such activities to ensure that products are processed and distributed on schedule, and within quality standards and cost objectives.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1.Directs the repackaging and distribution of company products at the lowest cost consistent with established standards of quality and quantity.

2.Develops and monitors schedules to insure that completed products are shipped on time, and in accordance with customer expectations.

3.Initiates cost improvements and process procedures to most effectively meet terminal objectives.

4.Approves major purchases of supplies and equipment required for the efficient operation of a terminal.

5.Provides for preventive maintenance schedules and repairs through the Maintenance Mechanic, ensuring that terminal facilities, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in appropriate operating condition to meet packaging and shipping requirements. Ensures that fleet equipment is properly maintained.

6.Ensures that all approved safety procedures and terminal policies are observed by employees and provides such direction through the Assistant Terminal Manager.

7.Identifies training needs and may participate in presenting such training.

8.Reviews and approves recommendations of subordinate managers concerning rate changes and participates in the formulation of terminal policies which affect employees.

9.Maintain strong working relationship with all trucking companies at the terminal. Regular meetings should be held.

  1. Stay current with HACCP requirements.

  2. Performs required duties as outlined in annual Safety Action Plan.

  3. Maintains an awareness of inventory levels to ensure that such are maintained within the limits of established policy.

  4. Supports and administers approved company policies, and clearly communicates new policies and objectives to all terminal employees.

  5. Investigates the means by which terminal procedures can be improved, and initiates improvements in the efficiency of terminal operations.

  6. Performs reasonably similar or related duties that may be required for the successful administration of the function.

SUPERVISES: Assistant Terminal Mgr., Shift Supervisor, Term. Adm. Asst., Product Handler, Maint. Mechanic

The Terminal Technician conducts intermediate level operations, assignments and duties for the Pipeline Department under general supervision. Works unsupervised the majority of the time and may be required to utilize independent judgment based on knowledge of the operation, making decisions about safety standards and operations as needed.</p><p>Job Duties</p><ul><li><p>Oversees product receipts and deliveries at the terminal, ensuring precise definitive measures to protect product quality</p></li><li><p>Ensures equipment is operating safely and properly</p></li><li><p>Performs quality control checks on the product</p></li><li><p>Operates the truck loading rack and troubleshoots problems when required</p></li><li><p>Performs tank lineups for outbound shipments and inbound receipts and ensures timeliness and efficiency of the process</p></li><li><p>Follows written procedures for various job duties and adheres to all safety procedures at all times Represents Company policy to truck drivers, contractors and third parties working close to company assets and monitors their activities</p></li><li><p>Operates Company vehicle and equipment</p></li><li><p>Responsible for dig test one call system, monitoring one calls, and dispatching to the location as needed</p></li><li><p>Maintains balance of the terminal (i.e., Barrels in/Barrels out) and Product Accountability of the Terminal</p></li><li><p>Proves Truck Rack and Pipeline meters to ensure accuracy</p></li><li><p>Generates various reports for daily distribution</p></li><li><p>Locates underground pipelines and assets using instrumentation</p></li></ul><p>Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.</p><p>Experience</p><p>A minimum of two years of job related experience is required.</p><p>Education Level</p><p>A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.</p><p>Preferred Education:</p><p>A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.</p><p>Required Skills</p><p>Intermediate knowledge of the pipeline department. Working knowledge of DOT safety rules and regulations. <br><br> Ability to make decisions as to operations and safety standards. Ability to make decisions as to operations and safety standards. Intermediate reading and writing skills with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.</p><p>Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility</p><p>Manages customers representatives and contractors while on company property.</p><p>Work Conditions</p><p>Field based. Petroleum refinery, out-of-doors environment and driver based environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. <br><br> Subject to all temperatures.
