The Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applicants for a non-tenure track term instructor position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. We have a particular need for candidates with experience in teaching asynchronous online courses with multicultural proficiency and an ability to teach across multiple areas of psychology.

The UAF Psychology Department is a small, cohesive faculty unit within the College of Liberal Arts. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses at all levels and in different modalities.

We teach psychology as a science, so expertise in statistics and research methods is necessary.

Our department's mission is focused on multiculturalism and diversity; a successful candidate will have included that focus in their previous courses or will be willing to include it in courses taught at UAF. Finally, a successful candidate will be a contributing member of a cohesive psychology department.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Psychology or related field at time of appointment. The committee will consider applicants who are all but dissertation (ABD), but candidates must have earned their PhD at the time of appointment (August 2024). The successful applicant will be qualified to teach at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, has a working knowledge of a variety of teaching technologies, and experience teaching asynchronous online courses.

Position Details:

This is a full-time faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
