Term Assistant Professor of Italian

The George Mason University, Department of Modern and Classical Languages, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Term Assistant Professor of Italian, beginning August 2019

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach all levels of language, literature and culture courses in Italian. Teaching responsibilities are 12 credit hours (4 courses) per semester.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should be fluent in Italian and English, hold a Ph.D. in Italian, and have teaching experience in elementary, intermediate and advanced levels of language instruction. They should also be able to teach courses in English on Italian literature and cinema across a broad range of periods and topics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants who are able to create new courses featuring Italian-American studies, the Italian diaspora and immigration studies are particularly invited to apply. We seek candidates who have the energy and commitment to contribute to our vibrant program, which has a Minor in Italian Studies and an active student-led club.

Web Announcement Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor Faculty Positions, Public/Community Health The Department of Global and Community Health at George Mason University (GMU), invites applications for two full-time term assistant professors (9-month, non-tenure track, state-funded) starting August 2019. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, participating in university governance, professional and public service, and performing related assignments such as supervising senior projects, student internships and practicums, and student advising. Annual appointments will depend on budget and performance. Required Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a doctoral degree in a public health discipline or closely related field and a record of effective teaching. Preferred qualifications: A MPH or a MSPH from a CEPH accredited school or program of public health. Founded in 2006, the Department of Global and Community Health offers BS in Community Health with concentrations in Clinical Science and Global Health, a MS in Global Health, and an CEPH accredited MPH with concentrations in Community Health Promotion, Epidemiology, Food Security and Nutrition, Global Health, Health Policy, Public Health Communication, and Public Health Practice, enrolling nearly 600 undergraduate and over 100 graduate students. The department includes 17 full-time faculty members with backgrounds in the social and behavioral sciences, environmental health, epidemiology, and global health who are committed to the ideals of health equity and social justice among underserved domestic and global populations.
